The 6G Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding activities on storage tanks, pipelines, and structural components within oil & gas and refinery environments. The role requires strict adherence to Saudi Aramco standards, international welding codes (AWS/ASME/API), and project-specific quality and safety requirements. This position focuses heavily on tank repair, maintenance, and integrity restoration, ensuring zero defects and full compliance with inspection standards.
Responsibilities Perform 6G position welding on pipes, tank shells, nozzles, and structural components Execute welding using approved processes such as:SMAW (Stick) GTAW (TIG) FCAWCarry out welding in all positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead) with high precision Ensure welds meet required codes and procedures (WPS/PQR) Perform welding for:Tank shell repairs Bottom plate replacement Nozzle and manway repairs Reinforcement pad installation Conduct hot work repairs and ensure leak prevention and structural integrity Support tank refurbishment projects in shutdown/turnaround environments Perform visual inspection (VT) of welds Prepare joints and ensure proper fit-up before welding Rectify welding defects (repair welding) Follow strict Aramco HSE requirements and permit-to-work systems Use proper PPE and comply with confined space procedures Adhere to hot work permits and safety protocols at all times Maintain zero-incident work practices
Qualifications Technical Diploma or equivalent (preferred) Valid 6G Welding Certification (AWS / ASME / Aramco Approved) Saudi Aramco approval (SAP No. / CBT certification preferred) Minimum 3–5 years experience in:Oil & Gas / Refinery projects Tank maintenance (API 650 / API 653) Shutdown / turnaround environments
