Job Purpose:

The role shall help construct and execute a framework for the collection, maintenance and analysis of metering, customer & network data across the utilities. This includes shaping the foundational elements that would enable the team to identify data sources, clean data, construct suitable data architectures, analyze data relevant to operational parameters and share relevant data with concerned functions as per their requirements. Accordingly, the framework would help drive customer-centered decision making in terms of identifying root causes and preventative measures for operational efficiency as well as enhancing costumer engagement and experience. 

The role of Senior Manager – Data Analytics holds the responsibility of overseeing all aspects of data analysis and reporting to optimize TRSUC operations and drive efficiency.   

Key tasks will include advancing strategies that guide best practices for customer usage patterns analysis through comprehensive data analytics, providing actionable insights based on metering, customer & network data as well as managing projects with a specific emphasis on new and emerging technologies in metering and utilities.  

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Contribution 

• Design and implement a framework for the collection, maintenance and analysis of data across the utilities. 

• Oversee the execution of the division's forward-thinking, data-focused vision. 

• Coordinate the development and implementation of the data analytics strategy aligned with company objectives. 

• Plan strategies for efficient data collection, maintenance and analysis of utilities. 

• Help Identify insights and value drivers from the data received. 

• Establish a framework for advanced data analysis and predictive modeling. 

• Set strategic direction for data governance and data security.

Data Analytics  

• Lead the formulation of a foundational data analysis framework that identifies suitable data sources, architectures, analysis methods. 

• Oversee data analysis of utilities across metering, customer & distribution network for operational efficiency. 

• Help deduce data-driven insights that identify the root-causes of operational failures. 

• Provide compiled analytics with actionable recommendations to concerned functions as per their requirements 

Data Analytics  

• Lead the formulation of a foundational data analysis framework that identifies suitable data sources, architectures, analysis methods. 

• Oversee data analysis of utilities across metering, customer & distribution network for operational efficiency. 

• Help deduce data-driven insights that identify the root-causes of operational failures. 

• Provide compiled analytics with actionable recommendations to concerned functions as per their requirements 

• Employ predictive analytics to forecast utility trends and incidents and accordingly coordinate with incident management. 

• Leverage quantitative analysis for customer engagement and experience initiatives. 

• Develop procedures for data collection & maintenance ensuring quality and integrity. 

• Develop measures to periodically monitor existing customer accounts energy consumption and ensure whenever overall consumption exceeds average / predefined threshold, end user is informed through the customer services team. 

• Manage oversight & interaction with MRS on aspects around metering system in terms of review of reports on metering system components, document and communicate identified issues to Marafiq, maintain and update records, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of data received from Marafiq through defined validation and verification processes. 

• Manage collecting network data, data requirements identification, oversee data integration and maintenance in the data lake, ensure data quality, produce BI reports, and distribute to relevant departments. 

• Manage reporting and performance optimization for both power distribution and district cooling networks, develop comprehensive performance reports, and recommend network optimization initiatives, such as capital projects. 

• Provide historical monthly water consumption data essential for the water distribution short-term and long-term forecasting model. 

• Manage the integration and comprehensive analysis of waste data, managing the report generation process to share insights with stakeholders.

Leadership & Relationship 

• Create awareness around the need to maintain clean data, and the culture of data-based decision making. 

• Connect with departments to help them manage their data in a standardized manner. 

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports 

• Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.  

• Provide the necessary information and data for the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports and to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards. 

• Analyze data collection and analysis-related processes to identify areas of efficiency. 

Safety, Quality & Environment  

• Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude

Continuous Improvement    

• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement to the department’s systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement. 

• Assess data collection and analysis processes and develop improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity. 

• Ensure that all activities are carried out according to international best practices and standards. 

Qualifications/Experience:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field. 

• 8-12 years of work experience as a data analyst or in a related field with a focus on analytic functions with at least one year as a project lead/manager
