Job DescriptionOverview
As Project Director – Asset Management, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the Asset Management Office Setup project at King Khalid International Airport, in Riyadh, KSA. You will provide strategic and technical leadership, client engagement, and cross-functional coordination across multiple workstreams. Utilising your background gained from delivering similar projects in an airport setting and/or experience of working directly for an airport operator, you will have hands on experience of setting up, delivering and overseeing the asset management office, frameworks and initiatives. You will leverage your experience of airport operations, facilities management and operations and maintenance (O&M) requirements to bring true value to the Client as they embark on a long term plan to deliver a world class asset management framework, delivering tangible results at one of the fastest growing airports in the region.
The role requires not only deep expertise in project delivery, but also domain knowledge of asset management principles and operations in the aviation sector.
Based with the co-located AtkinsRéalis delivery team in Riyadh Airport’s offices, you will be the key point of contact for the Client and other key stakeholders, ensuring that all phases of the project are aligned with client expectations, international best practices, and project objectives.
Your role
- Lead overall project delivery from initiation to close-out, ensuring alignment with the contract, scope, and agreed deliverables.
- Guide, contribute to and review the outputs across the workstreams, ensuring technical coherence and delivery integration across:
- Asset Life Cycle: Asset Management framework, development of asset strategies, lifecycle analysis, asset maintenance strategies, and end of life strategies.
- Asset Assessment & Investment Planning: Asset condition and criticality assessment, SAMP and AMP, lifecycle cost analysis, and prioritizing asset investments.
- Asset Assurance & Performance Management: Asset performance monitoring, risk management, O&M contract oversight, standardization of operational/maintenance procedures, and life cycle value realisation.
- Build and maintain strong Client relationships with senior Client stakeholders, working across all levels of the Client organization to ensure successful implementation and integration of the Asset Management Office.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams and senior workstream leads across asset lifecycle, investment planning, and performance management. Direct on-site project for circa 10 individuals.
- Oversee compliance of the client organisation with ISO 55001 and integration of best-in-class asset management frameworks.
- Oversee project planning, risk management, resource allocation, and budget control.
- Review and sign off on all strategic reports, transformation plans, and policy deliverables.
- Serve as the escalation point for all project-related matters, ensuring timely resolution.
- Provide executive-level reporting and participate in governance and steering committee reviews.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Asset Management in Aviation across our global business.
About you
- 20+ years of overall professional experience, including substantial experience in Asset Management, preferably in in large-scale aviation projects.
- Strong demonstrated hands on experience in the aviation sector (airports or civil aviation authorities) is highly preferred.
- Proven success delivering complex consulting or engineering programs with multiple stakeholders and high visibility.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 55001 standards, auditing, and asset management best practices.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience working with clients in the GCC region, particularly on government or public sector infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with digital asset management systems, capital planning tools, and enterprise transformation programs.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certifications are desirable.
- Arabic language would be a plus.
