About the Role


Future Pipe Industries Group (FPIG) is expanding its legal and governance footprint across the Middle East, with the establishment of its Regional Headquarters (RHQ) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We are looking for an experienced and agile Regional Legal Counsel & Contract Manager to join our RHQ team and provide legal and contractual support across multiple jurisdictions in the Middle East, including but not limited to KSA, UAE, Egypt, Qatar, and North Africa.


This dual-role position encompasses legal advisory, contract management, and digital transformation responsibilities. The successful candidate will be based in Riyadh and lead the full contract lifecycle (from tendering through to post-execution governance), while also contributing to the digitization of legal and contracting processes across the region.


 


Key Responsibilities


 


Legal Advisory & Regional Governance



  • Provide legal counsel to management across Middle East operations on regulatory, contractual, and operational matters.

  • Interpret and apply relevant laws across KSA, UAE, Egypt, and other regional jurisdictions in alignment with group-wide policies.

  • Support the RHQ legal setup, license renewals, board resolutions, and government filings.

  • Manage legal risks, support investigations, and handle pre-litigation claims or dispute resolution processes.

  • Support license renewals, regulatory filings, and legal formalities in coordination with RHQ and business units.


 


Contract Lifecycle Management


 


Pre-Tender & Tender Stage



  • Review RFQs, RFPs, and bid documents, flag legal and commercial risks.

  • Coordinate with the Bids & Proposal team to formulate compliant and qualified submissions.

  • Evaluate contractual risk positions and align with internal stakeholders for bid approval.


 


Negotiation & Execution Stage



  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts (EPC, supply, service, JV).

  • Ensure strict compliance with FPI's Authority Matrix and Legal Signatory Matrix.

  • Manage execution workflows and maintain contract version control.


 


Digital Contract Transformation



  • Lead the Legal Function initiative on the digitalization of the contract lifecycle via tools like DocuSign, SharePoint, SAP Ariba, or contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms.

  • Assist in building digital workflows, approval matrices, metadata structures, and templates.

  • Promote system adoption across business functions and act as a contract system superuser or advisor.

  • Create and build the tool legal library and template in support of the digital tool.


 


Policies, Playbook & Training



  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of FPI's contracts policy, templates, and legal risk thresholds.

  • Lead the drafting, updating, and institutionalization of the Contract & Commercial Manual and Contract Playbook.

  • Deliver training sessions and workshops across functions to build consistency and awareness of contract governance.

  • Recommend enhancements to improve collaboration between Legal, Commercial, Projects, and Finance

Skills

Education & Certifications:



  • Law degree from a reputable institution.

  • Saudi legal qualification or understanding of GCC commercial law is preferred.


Experience:



  • 8 - 10 years of combined legal and contract management experience.

  • Proven exposure to end-to-end contract lifecycle activities and legal advisory.

  • Regional experience in KSA, UAE, Egypt, and other Middle East countries is required.

  • Experience in industry sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, construction, energy, or oil & gas is preferred.

  • Prior involvement in digital contract transformation initiatives is highly valued.


 


Skills & Attributes



  • Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills.

  • Solid understanding of legal and operational risks in cross-border contracts.

  • Familiarity with contract platforms (e.g., SAP, CLM, DocuSign, SharePoint).

  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder environments across different cultures and jurisdictions.

  • Experience maintaining governance policies and delivering legal/commercial training

  • High ethical standards, attention to detail, and organizational discipline.

  • Fluent in English; French language proficiency is a plus given the Group's presence in North and West Africa. Arabic is also beneficial.
