Job Details

  • Act as the second point of contact for onboard staff to identify and address engineering flaws and delegate tasks promptly. 


  • Perform technical inspections of vessels during port calls to ensure compliance with maintenance standards and procedures. 


  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance functions to minimize revenue loss and control repair costs.


  • Ensure timely correction of technical /electrical defects reported by vessels and provide necessary shore assistance.


  • Maintain an updated and relevant planned maintenance system (PMS) for all assigned vessels. 


Assist port engineers to prepare repair and dry dock specifications in collaboration with vessel staff and technical teams. 


  • Oversee the rectification of deficiencies identified during audits, inspections, or surveys within stipulated timeframes.


  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all compliance-related activities, including planned maintenance systems (PMS).


Monitor and enforce adherence to company policies regarding emissions, waste management, and environmental sustainability


  • Monitor the performance of engineering teams onboard and conduct regular performance appraisals.


  • Ensure all engineering staff onboard receive proper handovers and familiarization with their roles and responsibilities. 


  • Monitor all engineering work-in-progress for planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs for all allocated vessels


  • Cooperate directly with the Port Captain and Operations personnel regarding the day today maintenance and repairs of the vessels


Actively involved in the Dry Dock preparation with close cooperation with Shared Service Technical Department


  • Liaise with Engineers and Crew establishing and maintaining positive communication between vessel and office staff, promoting the safety and well-being of Seafaring personnel and property on a day-to-day basis. 


  • Brief Engineers and crew before their assignment to vessel, ensuring they are aware of their roles and responsibilities on board, and clearly communicating company expectations. 


Ensure personnel matters, including industrial relations, are resolved and effective relationships are built between management and staff.
