JOB DETAILS:
Position Title: Sr. Internal Auditor Reports to: AVP, Audit
ROLE OVERVIEW:To perform and support financial, operational, and compliance audit assignments in accordance with the approved internal audit plan. The role assists in evaluating internal controls, identifying risks, and providing practical recommendations to enhance governance, compliance, and operational efficiency. The Senior Internal Auditor supports the Audit Manager in implementing audit programs and monitoring corrective actions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Key Result Area: Audit Execution Description:Perform financial, operational, and compliance audits according to approved audit programs and timelines. Risk & Control Review Description:Evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities. Reporting Description:Prepare clear audit working papers, findings, and draft reports with practical recommendations for management review. Follow-up Description:Monitor implementation of agreed corrective actions and validate closure of audit observations. Support & Coordination Description:Support the Audit Manager in annual planning, special reviews, investigations, and coordination with external auditors/consultants.
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Audit Manager, Internal Audit team, Department Heads, Process Owners, Employees External: External auditors, consultants, and service providers (as required).
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE:Minimum Qualification:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum Experience:4–6 years of relevant experience in internal audit, risk, or accounting, preferably within financial services or financing companies. Other Requirement:Progress toward CIA or equivalent professional certification preferred Good understanding of internal controls, risk management, and audit methodologies Strong analytical and report-writing skills Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) Attention to detail and problem-solving ability Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and within a team Professional integrity and ethical standards
