Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced AV System Engineer with deep knowledge of professional AV system design, configuration, and long-term support. This role places strong emphasis on post-project maintenance, proactive monitoring, system upgrades, and responsive troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be skilled in working with a wide variety of AV technologies from major manufacturers and ensuring ongoing system reliability for end users.
Key Responsibilities
System Configuration & Deployment
- Install, configure, and commission a wide range of AV systems including audio, video, LED displays, control systems, and AV-over-IP solutions.
- Integrate and configure technologies from Auravision, Colorlight, Extron, AMX, Crestron, Biamp, Shure, Arthur Holm, and other leading manufacturers.
- Ensure all systems are delivered according to design specifications and performance standards.
Post-Project Maintenance & Support
- Serve as the primary technical contact for post-installation support, ensuring systems operate continuously and efficiently.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, system health checks, and performance audits.
- Apply firmware updates, software patches, and hardware upgrades across all AV systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex AV issues related to signal flow, networked AV, control logic, audio DSPs, and display hardware.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including service logs, configuration changes, network maps, and equipment inventories.
- Provide remote and on-site support for clients, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for advanced troubleshooting or warranty-related issues.
System Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor AV systems for anomalies, performance degradation, or failures and take corrective actions proactively.
- Recommend improvements to enhance system performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Analyze recurring issues to propose long-term solutions and system refinements.
Client Training & Communication
- Train end users and internal teams on system operation and best practices.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding maintenance schedules, upgrade plans, and technical resolutions.
Skills
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an AV System Engineer or similar AV technical role.
- Strong understanding of AV system architecture, signal flow, and networked AV concepts.
- Proven experience with:
- LED systems: Auravision, Colorlight
- Control systems: Extron, AMX, Crestron
- Audio systems: Biamp DSPs, Shure audio systems
- Display & specialty systems: Arthur Holm
- AV-over-IP technologies and video distribution platforms
- Video conferencing solutions
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, especially in live or mission-critical environments.
- Ability to read and interpret AV drawings, block diagrams, and network schematics.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in Crestron, Extron, AMX, Biamp, Shure, Dante, Q-SYS, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with enterprise network infrastructure supporting AV systems.
- Background in service contracts, SLAs, and long-term support programs
