JOB PURPOSE:
Assist the leadership team of Jayasom Amaala translate Jayasom’s strategy into actionable Marketing programs, activities, and initiatives whilst ensuring the right structure and operational policies and procedures are in place. Responsible to plan and implement marketing and product development programs, targeted to local and international markets. As part of the pre-opening team, you will design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for the launch and ongoing development and management of Jayasom Wellness Resort Amaala brand. Increase brand awareness and promote the resort’s services and products in ways that strengthens the reputation of Jayasom and facilitates its growth. Maximise revenue opportunities through yield management. Ambassador of Jayasom’s wellness and sustainability culture, promote its awareness amongst team members, clients, partners, vendors by leading by example and develop activities and programs that consistently embrace and reflect Jayasom’s culture and brand standards.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key representative of Jayasom Amaala brand in conjunction with the leadership team. Responsible for the launch and ongoing development and management of Jayasom Amaala Resort brand. Ensure all marketing activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and culturally appropriate. Monitor competitor set and market situation, gleaning intelligence for business development. Develop insight from customer base use of services and from feedback to formulate into new service development, to improve marketing communication and to improve profitability. Develop and manage a productive relationship with ownership, resort department heads, team leaders and team members and the corporate office team. Attend and participate in meetings with owners, department heads and own team. Participate in people and community relations activities and programs available at the property and encourage team members to participate. Promote a friendly and collaborative work environment that includes, open communication, empowerment, team work, participation, creativity, trust, respect, professionalism and fun. Live a sustainable and wellness lifestyle by example and action. Take a positive and resourceful approach to every project and activity.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
Build an effective Marketing team by proactively participate in the selection, training, and development of Team Members. Share and effectively communicate Jayasom’s Purpose with Team Members, ensure it is clear and that they understand the importance of aligning behind it through our strategies, procedures, processes, actions and behaviors. Ensure team members understand how their role contributes to the success of the team, department, property and Jayasom. Equally, how it matters to create change to the lifestyle of the guests and to empower the communities we live in. Walk the talk, model the desired behaviors. Provide a supportive and caring work environment where team members are encouraged to ask questions, seek feedback, share opinions, perspectives, and discuss problems and mistakes without fear of embarrassment and retribution. Lead with empathy, trying to understand team members’ thoughts and perspectives to gain insight into their emotions and to better connect with them. Assign responsibilities to team members, provide them with the right environment and support to take ownership and accountabilitytowards the delivery of their daily tasks, projects, and objectives as per company service standards and set timelines. Ensure team members have a complete understanding of their role, responsibilities and company expectations, as well as the role of others to help them know whom to ask for information/support when required. Encourage team members to participate in learning activities/programs, committees, seminars, webinars, community relations activities and programs, meetings, surveys. Celebrate successes and recognise the contribution of team members. Set regular feedback discussions with team members, on performance, to set up and follow through tasks/projects, monitor how they are feeling and provide them with the right support and guidance. Nurture teamwork and collaboration within own department, and with other property departments. Foster team members’ commitment to deliver excellent and customised guest service.
KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the set up and operations of the Marketing & PR department of the resort to ensure goals and objectives are achieved. Develop and implement strategic marketing plans to ensure company’s goals and objectives are achieved. Develop and manage the marketing operating budgets. Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities including print, online, social media and direct mail. In collaboration with the Head of Sales and Yield Specialist to develop and recommend the resort’s positioning and pricing strategy. Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to present standards and industry and economic trends. Ensure effective control of marketing results and take corrective actions to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets. Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Monitor competitor resorts, sales and marketing activities. Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners. Manage agency relationships to achieve business goals – including creative, public relations, website, and social media channels. Build and execute strategies to attract potential clients and to retain their loyalty, including managing performance of the sales & marketing programs. Guide the preparation of marketing activity reports and present them to the executive team. Establish and maintain a consistent brand image throughout all services, promotional materials, and events. Lead market channel development activities and coordinate sales by establishing sales regions and goals. Represent Jayasom Wellness Resort at Amaala at industry trade shows and events. Meet with key clients and assist the sales team with maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing deals. Analyse and control expenditures of the S&M department to conform to budgetary requirements. Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion. Review and analyse sales performance against programs to determine their effectiveness. Direct marketing research and development.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:BSc/BA in marketing, business administration (preferred) or equivalent
Work Experience:Proven experience in sales and marketing, ideally in Saudi Arabia and in a Wellness Resort or Retreat Previous experience launching a new brand, preferably in the hospitality or health industries
Knowledge:Proficiency in social media, digital campaign management, web analytics and web trends MS Office Suite Excellent knowledge of market research techniques, data analysis and statistics methods Native English language and Fluency in Arabic is an advantage
