ROLE OVERVIEW
Senior Design Manager will be responsible for leading the design team and the design process for large-scale building projects (various asset types). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecture or engineering, with extensive experience in managing design processes for major construction projects. The Senior Design Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the project's success by overseeing all design-related activities, from conceptualization through to completion, ensuring they meet quality standards, budget, and schedule.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the design team, including architects, engineers, and other design professionals, to achieve project goals.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and consultants, to ensure the design meets all requirements and expectations.
- Oversee the development and implementation of design strategies, ensuring they align with project objectives, budget, and timeline.
- Ensure all design work complies with regulatory and environmental standards and guidelines.
- Manage the design process, from initial concept to final approval, ensuring milestones are met and deliverables are of high quality.
- Facilitate communication between the design team and other project teams to ensure a cohesive and efficient project progression.
- Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specifications, ensuring they are accurate and meet project standards.
- Identify and mitigate design-related risks and challenges, implementing solutions to prevent project delays or budget overruns.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in design management, with a proven track record of success in leading design teams for large-scale building projects.
- Knowledge and previous experience in KSA and Middle East.
- Strong knowledge of design principles, construction methods, and project management processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Proficient in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, BIM) and project management tools.
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and sustainability practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Has a strong technical experience in:
- Design and specification, construction, and commissioning.
- Sustainability design.
- Safety in design.
- Environment requirements.
- Permitting process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Master's degree in similar field would be considered preferable
