Job Purpose
The Director of Marketing & Communications, Destination Development is responsible for leading both the strategy and delivery of all destination experience-related activities, events, and messaging across The Red Sea and AMAALA.
An expert in both industry and consumer engagement, this highly strategic and creative individual will define the overall positioning of the destination experience (and associated operator brands) as well as lead the delivery and development of this portfolio, establishing these brands and brand experiences both in the market and minds of the current and future guest and building upon this over time with the aim of building global brand icons.
Job Responsibilities
•Define the fully integrated, 360-degree brand and comms strategy informed by the overall ambitions of the Red Sea Global business and inspired by local, regional and global customer insight and understanding.
•Put in place an always-on calendar of activities, maximizing owned, earned, and paid promotional opportunities across a complex ecosystem of partners and providers.
• Set the total marketing budget, assigning how this is allocated across the full range of integrated media and continuously iterating on this blend to maximize impact and results.
• Be responsible for all destination experience campaigns, continuously pursuing optimal impact and output in relation to all activity and spend.
• Direct on-going competitor and industry analysis to identify both strategic and tactical brand opportunities.
• Guide continuous consumer research committed to mining key, actionable guest insights from a local, regional, and global point of view and building these into future campaign concepts.
•Oversee and quality control all design as well as delivery of all production elements from artwork through to campaign and event assets and more.
•Work with the wider business – the Corporate and Destination Marketing functions – to ensure total alignment as well as maximum impact for the Destination experience brands and business at large.

•Define departmental process and procedures including content planning, calendar optimization and approvals processes.
•Establish internal and cross-functional ways of working to enhance quality and speed of ideation, bringing better ideas to market as efficiently and effectively as possible.
•Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the total team and its output, ensuring an enhanced outcome across all assets, campaigns, and creative concepts.

• Responsible for design and delivery of high-quality products/service at all times.

Identify and implement measurement and analysis that explores impact at a business / bookings level as reputational tracking and ultimately ROI.
Qualifications and Experience
•Minimum 12-15 years’ experience in a client organization, owning the effective design and delivery of both brand and corporate communications in parallel.
•Significant experience in destination branding and marketing working with both B2B and B2C audiences.
• Comprehensive industry media exposure along with crafting as well as approving media engagement materials. (Press Releases, packs, conferences etc.)
• A passion for travel, tourism, and destination experiences.
