Role Purpose:
Define and lead maintenance strategy and activities around the factory within the targeted budget.
Key Accountabilities
Budgeting and Performance Monitoring
- Define the key priorities for the maintenance department in terms of KPIs, targets, main actions, needed resources, and expenses/budget, based on analyzing and preparing data related to year n-1 and taking into account companies (site) n+1 priority
- Monitor the maintenance sections’ KPIs against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
- Maintain contact with existing suppliers and develop relationships with new suppliers to explore new methodologies for continuous improvement
- Report maintenance performance as per the company standard and policies
Operations and Performance Management
- Develop and manage maintenance activities including routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance to ensure the reliability of machines/ equipment for use.
- Manage spare part store for timely availability of spares and to optimize level of inventory, including assessment of right stock holding.
- Assist and advise in the planning and installation of new machinery and equipment in the execution of new projects
Performance Management
- Lead internal maintenance meetings and with operations team(s)
- Determine the right KPIs for the team
- Apply “Short Interval Management” principles
- Conduct continuous improvement initiatives
Safety and Quality
- Conduct Inspections as requested, in particular, the Dairy Preventative Maintenance programs, and ensure proper operation of the equipment and prevent micro contaminations and risks from foreign objects.
- Identify and analyze defects in products or processes to set suitable corrective actions
- Carry out inspections, investigations, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives
Continuous improvement
- Initiate continuous improvement activities
- Ensure continuous improvement processes are in place so that all aspects of the operations (organizations, systems, skills, policies, etc.) are challenged, optimized and become more effective
- Support the deployment of the DaMaWay tools within the whole quality department (Zoning, 5S, Problem-solving, DANONE maintenance Model)
- Ensure effective networking with Danone production teams to identify and implement international best practices
People Management and organization
- Manage the activities and work of subordinates and evaluate their performance by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and by setting individual missions and targets
- Evaluate the skills and competencies of the team, and set up a training plan accordingly
- Conduct hiring whenever required
Policies, Processes & Procedures
- Direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of quality activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost-effective services
- Support and deploy the DANONE Ways of doing business (WISE, DANONE Way, CODE, social principles, etc.)
Safety, Quality & Environment
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls across the section to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, and a responsible environmental attitude
Member of the Plant Leader
- Provide input to support with all strategic, operational, and policy aspects of the plant related to Sourcing, Capex, HR or Quality initiatives, organization, etc.
- The PLT decisions are implemented as agreed
Job Requirements
- 10 years of relevant experience in a production environment, including at least 5 years in maintenance management positions with progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
- Management of a large team in a factory environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering
