The Irrigation Manager/Engineer plays a crucial role in the agriculture and crop production industry, particularly in optimizing water usage to enhance crop yield and sustainability. This position involves designing, implementing, and managing irrigation systems that ensure efficient water distribution across various agricultural landscapes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agricultural engineering, environmental science, or a related field, coupled with practical experience in irrigation management. Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement efficient irrigation systems tailored to specific crop needs.
  2. Monitor and evaluate the performance of irrigation systems to ensure optimal water usage.
  3. Conduct soil and water assessments to determine irrigation requirements.
  4. Collaborate with agronomists and farm managers to develop irrigation schedules.
  5. Manage irrigation budgets and resources effectively.
  6. Train and supervise staff on irrigation system operation and maintenance.
  7. Stay updated on the latest irrigation technologies and practices.
  8. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to water usage.
  9. Analyze data to improve irrigation efficiency and crop productivity.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. An agricultural engineer with a strong academic background.
  2. 10-15 years of experience, preferably within KSA.
  3. Experience with any Public Investment Fund (PIF) projects.
  4. Proven experience in the technical execution of irrigation networks, including main lines, laterals, fittings, and controllers.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  7. Knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  9. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  10. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Skills

  • Proficient in irrigation design and management software.
