Bid Excellence Manager
The Sales Effectiveness function aims to define and support best-in-class excellence at every stage of the seller journey. The Bid Excellence Manager will drive seller effectiveness and productivity by guiding business development teams through the pursuit phase, providing structure, process, best practice tools and strategies to enable the best chance of winning business.
In addition to the development of high-quality, value-based, and customer-centric proposal and presentation deliverables, the role will support proactive opportunity planning, shape winning bid strategies, craft compelling stories, capture key learnings, and tailor best practices into repeatable processes, applying consistent standards of excellence to all pursuits.
Job Description
Customer:
• Support organizational growth objectives and achievement of Business Development performance targets by positioning teams to win and retain business.
• Ensure Voice of Customer is reflected across all proposal and presentation deliverables and maintain consistent application of customer focus principles.
• Analyze RFPs and assess requirements, evaluation criteria, and key deliverables, and ensure compliance with customer requirements, including brand standards.
Process:
• Research & Planning
- Gather intelligence about the customer and the opportunity, conduct competitive analysis, and assess business fit.
- Facilitate value proposition sessions to identify key win themes and differentiators and define proposal strategy aligned with the overall pursuit strategy.
- Assess overall proposal effort and resource requirements and establish bid plan and schedule.
• Development
- Organize content plans and develop storyboards.
- Write, compile, and edit the content required for the bid, ensuring clarity, persuasiveness, and alignment with the overall bid strategy.
- Conduct document reviews.
• Management
- Own end-to-end process and ensure best practices and tools are consistently applied.
- Manage the bid timeline, ensuring adherence to deadlines throughout the bid process.
- Quality assurance to ensure the highest quality deliverables aligned to Bid Excellence standards and timely submission.
• Post-Op
- Conduct post-bid analysis to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the proposal and the bid process itself.
- Maintain intelligence to drive improvement on future opportunities.
- Archive proposal and harvest reusable content.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, required
- 3 years of experience working in presentation creation/management with evidence of continuing professional development, required
- Excellent written and vernal communications skills, required
- Consultative Business Skills, required
