The Mechanical Quantity Surveyor plays a crucial role in the construction and building industry, particularly within the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. This position involves the management and control of costs associated with mechanical engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, along with substantial experience in quantity surveying. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and effective communication abilities to liaise with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical engineering projects, including materials, labor, and overheads.
  2. Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress and ensure compliance with specifications.
  3. Review and analyze project drawings and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  4. Prepare and submit tender documents, including bills of quantities and specifications.
  5. Monitor project budgets and provide regular financial reports to management.
  6. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
  7. Assist in the preparation of claims and variations, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
  8. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely completion of projects.
  9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and regulations.
  10. Provide mentorship and training to junior quantity surveyors and interns.
