QA/QC Manager (Civil) - Mega Project

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement QA/QC Plans: Create and maintain the project's quality assurance and quality control plans, ensuring alignment with local regulations, international standards (ISO), and project specifications.
  • Monitor Construction Activities: Supervise civil construction activities to ensure compliance with project standards, contract requirements, and engineering best practices.
  • Conduct Inspections and Audits: Perform regular site inspections, audits, and assessments to ensure the quality of materials, workmanship, and project deliverables meet the highest standards.
  • Document Control: Ensure proper documentation of QA/QC activities, including inspection reports, non-compliance reports, and corrective action plans. Maintain records for internal and external audits.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to quality and provide recommendations to mitigate these risks. Take preventive and corrective actions where necessary.
  • Interface with Stakeholders: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure QA/QC objectives are met. Facilitate clear communication on quality standards and expectations.
  • Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination: Oversee the quality control of materials and work performed by suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Testing and Verification: Ensure that all necessary tests (material testing, concrete testing, soil testing, etc.) are conducted as per project requirements and that test results are properly recorded.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to QA/QC staff and site personnel on quality standards, inspection procedures, and best practices.
  • Compliance with Health and Safety Standards: Ensure that QA/QC processes are integrated with the project's health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed QA/QC reports for project leadership, outlining quality performance, compliance issues, and corrective measures taken.


Skills

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications in QA/QC would be an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in QA/QC within the civil engineering or construction sector, with at least 5 years in a managerial role on large-scale infrastructure or mega projects.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in quality management systems (ISO 9001, QA/QC certifications, etc.) are preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of civil construction methodologies, materials testing, project specifications, and local building codes. Experience in using QA/QC tools and software.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Language: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
