The Senior Mechanical Engineer is part of the project execution team, the candidate will be overseeing the mechanical aspects of our construction projects to ensure they meet our design intent, specifications, and quality standards. |
ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES The Senior Mechanical Engineer responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: - Represent Neom in all mechanical engineering matters during the planning, construction, and commissioning phases of construction projects.
- Review and provide feedback on mechanical engineering designs, drawings, and specifications submitted by external consultants and contractors.
- Monitor and inspect mechanical installations to ensure compliance with design intent, specifications, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, identify potential issues, and ensure quality control.
- Provide technical expertise and support in resolving mechanical engineering issues that arise during construction.
- Review and approve mechanical submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with local, state, and national codes and regulations.
- Prepare and present reports on project status, mechanical system performance, and compliance to senior management.
- Advocate for NEOM's interests, ensuring that project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills and Experience - Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the building and process industry with a strong focus on large complex construction projects.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or similar certification preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical codes and standards.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and project management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively represent the client in meetings and negotiations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Proficient in English.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
