Role Purpose

To participate in developing OXAGON’s innovation, funding and financing ecosystem, contributing to the development and execution of strategic plans aimed at concluding and enhancing partnerships with early- and late-stage deep tech investors, financing and corporate partners. This role also involves investigating and evaluating the feasibility and structure of setting up a VC fund, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. The role requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to ensure clear communication and transparency in all dealings with investors and partners. It involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to foster a positive and collaborative environment .

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Building and Developing Investors & Partners Ecosystem

  • Lead and contribute to strategic plans for creating leads to develop formal agreements with investors and partners, including conducting research and analysis to identify new opportunities for partnerships and funding, specifically targeting non-traditional deep tech and capital-intensive hardware sectors of “slow VC returns”.
  • Maintain long-term partnerships and manage affiliations and relations with the OXAGON investors community while representing the organization with professionalism and integrity.
  • Support funding & financing offering activities in line with Innovation Programs and Oxagon strategy
  • Contribute in different ways, building a pipeline of local, regional, and international investors and execute on tactical research, lead generation, partnerships, events, and sourcing campaigns.
  • Analyze and gather timely and accurate information on the performance, fundraising, and financials across various funding, financing and corporate partners and their portfolio companies.
  • Create compelling presentations, reports, and other communications materials to communicate with investor stakeholders effectively.
  • Lead and maintain relationships with investors and corporate partners, including responding to inquiries, arranging meetings, sending regular reports, and facilitating communication.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Represent the organization with professionalism and integrity at conferences, meetings, and other events to promote the organization's goals and initiatives.

Investment analysis and funding matchmaking

  • Conduct financial due diligence and assess investment viability for start-ups and scale-ups identified through Innovation programs.
  • Perform valuation analysis on the companies' P&L statements and propose value creation initiatives.
  • Engage with and build strong relationships with portfolio companies originating from Oxagon Innovation programs.
  • Facilitate connections between onboarded start-ups/scale-ups and existing investment partners.
  • Identify and scout potential investors (incl. corporates) for onboarded start-ups and scale-ups.
  • Develop proposals and strategies for a VC/Private Equity fund thesis, focusing on future investments in deep-tech start-ups and scale-ups.

Perform regular activities

  • Regularly update investors´ data in the CRM system, including reviewing and creating memorandums of understanding and framework agreements, action lists, and managing portfolio companies.
  • Follow internal governance and support in facilitating financing activities for the tenants of Oxagon, Innovation district, support in organizing Demo Days and Pitch Events for Accelerator and other Innovation programs.
  • Identify external third parties that can potentially deliver funding, e.g., NEOM bodies, KSA governmental bodies, venture capital firms, family offices, banks, and corporate Venture Arms.
  • Identify any other internal or external parties who can help OXAGON to achieve the goal of ensuring all tenants can access the funding they will need to be successful.
  • Support any further required joint agreements with the providers of other financing instruments, e.g., guarantees for innovation loans from banks, venture debt, etc.
  • Support in negotiating the financing and funding approaches, packages, and agreements offered to Oxagon, Innovation programs and Innovation District tenants with external third parties.
  • Scheduling internal and external meetings and attending them to capture and summarize discussions and inform next steps.
  • Creation and development of proposals, pitch decks, case studies, etc.

BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in, Investment Management, Investment Consulting, or Venture Capital.
  • Confident and comfortable working on financial analysis, M&A structuring, Venture Capital & Debt Financing topics.
  • Proven track record of success in leading comprehensive investor and partner partnerships, both local and international.
  • Able to understand and connect the different investment and innovation ecosystem stakeholders to create a prosperous environment for the OXAGON tenants.
  • Experience working with VC & PE funds of the following regions: KSA, MENA, China, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and North & South America is preferred.
  • Experience with performing research and business analysis and structuring complex data.
  • Confident in interacting with senior managers and executives, able to give presentations and hold discussions without support.
  • Good stakeholder management skills, proven ability to lead partners (internal or external), collaborate, and build networks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of delivering a high standard of presentation preparation and working with all MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc…).
  • Pragmatic, able to find practical solutions and get things done.

 

Qualifications

  • Master´s in Finance, MBA, or other advanced degree in business is preferred.
  • Private Equity, Investment Banking, or Consulting experience is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
