The technical pre-sales specialist serves as a technical expert and advisor, supporting the sales team in understanding client requirements and proposing tailored solutions. This role assists in designing and presenting technical solutions to customers, conducting product demonstrations, and addressing technical inquiries and plays a crucial role in supporting the sales process and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering: Collect customer requirements and identify potential product or service needs and specifications. Collaborate with the sales and product specialist teams to qualify and analyze customer requirements, objectives, and constraints. Consult with customers to determine their needs and preferences to help them select the right products or services for their needs.
- Technical Solution Design: Assist in designing technical solutions that meet customer needs and align with the company's products or services. Understand the commercial cost/financial/budget impact of decisions to be taken, for any products/solutions to be developed, considering the overall impact to a customer proposal and recommend the appropriate solutions.
- Sales Support: Support the sales team in addressing technical inquiries, providing accurate and timely information, and addressing technical concerns. Support presales activities, proposal generation, product position, solution offer, responding to technical clarifications in tender. Work closely with the Sales team to provide full presales assistance in support of the successful achievement of sales targets while adhering to cost of sales objectives. Assist in developing and delivering POCs to demonstrate the feasibility and value of the proposed technical solutions. Provide product demos and conduct technical presentations for prospective clients. Support presales site activities, preliminary site visit, coordinating trial test support / preparation .
- Technical Proposal Development: Contribute to the preparation and development of technical proposals, including solution architectures, implementation plans, and pricing. Provide solutioning support including proposal reviews and preparing opportunity-specific costing/pricing model approach (assumptions, input parameters, tactical and strategic pricing options). Participate in the completion of submitted RFI/RFP documents, bid coordination, prospect qualification, discovery and requirements gathering, product demonstrations, technical discussions, and design solution proposals.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, such as product management and engineering, to gather customer feedback and contribute to product development discussions.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams to foster collaboration and drive customer success.
- Continuous Learning: Continuously improve technical knowledge and skills through self-learning and training opportunities.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field, such as computer science, engineering, or information technology.
- At least 8 years of experience of working in pre-sales roles or functions with 2-3 years across requirement gathering, creating proposal and collaborating with the different technical teams in successfully designing solutions and products.
