Summary and Objective:

The Senior Network Specialist at the National Industrial Training Institute (NITI) plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure.

This position requires advanced technical expertise in networking, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to support and optimize network performance and security.

The role also involves working with various network and security tools to ensure the organization's IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain NITI's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions.
• Implement and optimize network protocols and technologies to ensure efficient data transmission and network performance.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of network services.
• Conduct network capacity planning and upgrade initiatives to support organizational growth and technological advancements.
• Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
• Manage and configure Trend Micro security solutions to safeguard the network environment.
• Oversee Veeam Backup systems to ensure reliable data backup and recovery.
• Administer VMware vCenter to manage virtualized environments effectively.
• Configure and manage Sophos Firewall for network security and protection.
• Handle Cisco networking switching and routing for efficient network management.
• Administer Domain Controllers, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP to ensure seamless network operations and user management.
• Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to implement network solutions and resolve complex network issues.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineers and junior staff members.
• Evaluate and recommend network hardware, software, and tools to enhance network performance and security.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in networking and cybersecurity, recommending and implementing improvements to NITI's network infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+) preferred.
• Proven experience as a Network Specialist or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in designing and managing enterprise-level networks.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and security principles.
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds).
• Experience with Trend Micro, Veeam Backup, VMware vCenter, Sophos Firewall, Cisco networking, Domain Controllers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and cybersecurity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
