JOB PURPOSE:
To oversee and manage the manufacturing operations of a technical store, ensuring efficient inventory management, customer satisfaction, and the overall success of the store. ensure manufacturing operations satisfaction, exercising disciplined expense control, attracting and retaining outstanding talent and effectively engaging department personnel. optimizing spare parts department processes to ensure manufacturing operations satisfaction.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Strategic Contribution
- Direct the implementation of the annual business plan and targets and implement the strategic agenda of the Technical Services department to deliver NADEC vision and mission.
- Ensure that the strategy is translated into operational business plans for the Technical Services department and monitor the performance and execution of those plans to achieve functional objectives and deliver the Company's strategy.
Leadership
- Direct the activities of the Technical Services team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures.
- Build and lead a motivated, engaged, and competent team, by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.
- Serve as a role model to ensure employees' awareness and commitment to NADECvision, mission, values, and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated team, and continuously improve performance.
Budgeting
Lead the preparation of the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
Core Accountabilities
- Develop and maintains effective spare parts store processes to ensure streamlined stock availability in right quantity and quality.
- Create annual spare parts store KPIs and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives and effective Inventory Management.
- Develop and execute spare parts store operation plan and monitor monthly to ensure achievement of departmental goals and KPIs.
- Conduct a perpetual/annual physical inventory of all spare parts and related inventories.
- Maintain all spare parts, tools, equipment, lubricant, and chemicals, gases and consumables materials in good order and in a good working condition.
- Manage departmental expenses to maximise profitability and review expenses regularly to ensure resources are being used effectively and efficiently.
- Develop and maintain monthly budgets.
- Check, inspect and authorise all necessary local & foreign requisitions and follow up purchase orders shipping and receiving timetables until received in store.
- Ensure all incoming spare parts are checked for specification conformity and price and return any non-conforming or damaged part with credit request or insurance claim.
- Ensure smooth flow of daily paperwork.
- Maximise the utilisation of existing store space.
- Establish and maintain lines of communication with maintenance, operation, projects, purchasing and finance.
Policies, System, Processes and Procedures
- Manage the development and implementation of the Engineering policies, systems, processes, and procedures, identifying potential areas for improvement, to ensure efficient and effective operation.
- Ensure compliance with corporate requirements on adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to all relevant regulatory directives to ensure a safe and risk-free environment.
Change Management
- Motivate the employees and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering best practices.
- Ensure that all departmental reports and statements are completed timely and comply with local and international principles of governance and the organization's policies and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (preferred).
Masters in a related field (Preferred)
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a processing or manufacturing with experience in a technical store role highly desirable.
- In-depth understanding of inventory control principles and practices within a manufacturing setting.
