Role Purpose
Support the NEOM Regulatory Compliance Director and drive the development of NEOM’s Compliance and Ethics Programme, through the implementation of a comprehensive anti-fraud programme as well as the third party risk management programme in providing advise, guidance, direction in these areas. Provide advice and guidance on other areas of financial crime such as ABAC, AML, Sanctions and Anti-Trust and ensure that the business is operating with a culture of integrity.
Key Accountabilities & Activities
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the business complies with all relevant Anti-Corruption, Anti-Trust, Sanctions, Anti-Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering, Financial Crime requirements and other relevant legislation along with a view of global best practices
- In respect of Third Party Risk Management provide identify, assess, mitigate and report aggregate portfolio-level exposure and risks of third parties.
- Identify, develop and drive implementation of risk measurement techniques and capabilities, including details of key risk indicators, thresholds, and triggers, and response and mitigation requirements to manage third party risk.
- Provide relevant and timely advice and guidance on NEOM’s Compliance policies with specific focus on anti-financial crime policies and procedures.
- Remain up to date with all financial crime related regulatory developments and assess the implications for the business and where appropriate communicate, recommend and implement changes
- Support the implementation of NEOM’s compliance framework and standards through the adoption of strong internal controls, training and awareness on key fraud and financial crime elements.
- Contribute to relevant internal policies and risk assessments to ensure these are up to date and fit for purpose and cover all relevant parts of the business
- Support the NEOM anti-financial crime compliance programme and help drive a culture of integrity through the constant development and review of the programme objectives. Provide dedicated oversight on NEOM’s Fraud policies and procedures and ensure that these remain up to date and fit for purpose.
- Supports and able to lead financial crime risk assessments and control remediation activities with detailed understanding of remediation and improvement processes.
- Support and role model the compliance culture within NEOM.
Background, Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in Ethics and Compliance role with experience in Financial Crime Compliance and Third Party Risk Management
- Demonstrable experience building and developing financial crime, anti-fraud and third party risk management programmes in a global organisations, with robust knowledge of technology, risks, architectures and related tools
- Strong understanding of Financial Crimes Compliance (ABAC, Sanctions, Anti-Trust, Human Rights etc.) laws, regulations and risks
- Strong leadership and relationship qualities to manage business owners wishing to engage third parties
- Good presentation and communication skills to articulate risks to the business and the Audit committee
- Understanding of risk mitigation efforts and root cause identification
- Sound understanding and working knowledge of AML / financial crime regulatory requirements
- Committed to embedding a “right first time“ culture ensuring excellent attention to detail and leading by example
- Ability to critique own performance, acknowledging strengths and areas for development
- Shares expertise and learning across the team and encourages others to do so
- Thinks and acts strategically with a demonstrated ability to solve problems
