IT Administrator

Job description

The purpose of this position is to ensure, and implement regularity and control over UNITED GULF overall IT related requirements. The IT Administrator’s roles, responsibilities and authorities are defined in order to be incorporated into the existing IT activities. For this, UG has identified an IT Administrator, whose roles and responsibilities are listed below.

To ensure success as an IT administrator, you should possess extensive experience in IT administration and the ability to optimize the performance of our IT infrastructure. An accomplished IT administrator will be someone whose technical expertise results in enhanced IT system efficiency across company structures.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Operate and monitor servers and peripheral equipment including printers, multifunction devices, and storage devices.

· Observe operation of equipment, control panels, error lights, verification printouts, error messages, and faulty output.

· Manage servers in Active Directory environment, ensuring that each server has 100% uptime

· Troubleshoot problems with the networks, web services, and mail services.

· Should have a good understanding of SharePoint, PowerAutomate etc to design and implement automate processes.

· Maintains a broad knowledge on ERP solutions, reporting tools, and other related software.

· Monitor system logs and activity on all servers and devices

· Document computer problems and resolutions for future reference.

· Collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems.

· Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade operating systems.

· Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade hardware and software interfaces with the operating system. Analyze and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data processing needs.

· Prepare detailed flow charts and diagrams outlining systems capabilities and processes.

· Research and recommend hardware and software development, purchase, and use.

· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration.

· Record and maintain hardware and software inventories, site and/or server licensing, and user access and security.

· Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as networking to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.

· Write and maintain system documentation.

· Conduct technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system.

· Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.

· Research error messages and manipulate console to re-sequence job steps after a job is interrupted.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Coordinate with the ISPs. Provision of mobile and fixed services.

Additional Responsibilities:
Provide IT induction training to staff members as required.

· Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource

· Automate processes by using Sharepoint, PowerAutomate, PowerApps etc.

Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information

Minimum Experience: 3 years’ experience in systems administration

Relevant Microsoft Certification

Knowledge and Skills Requirement:

Knowledge of modern operating systems. Knowledge of computer system backup tools and procedures. Knowledge of computer input and output media.
Ability to initialize and operate computer hardware and software systems.
Ability to utilize operating system utilities.
Knowledge of system automation tools and procedures.
Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users. Ability to learn and support new systems and applications. Work with staff requires interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of TCP/IP stacks and their functionality
Advanced knowledge in troubleshooting of Windows Operating Systems and the latest Windows Servers.
