Computer Assistant

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support to staff members experiencing computer hardware, software, or network issues.
  2. Install, configure, and maintain software applications and operating systems.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems promptly and effectively.
  4. Assist in the setup and configuration of computer peripherals and equipment.
  5. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, virus scans, and system backups.
  6. Collaborate with IT team members to identify and implement solutions to improve system performance and reliability.
  7. Train staff members on basic computer skills and best practices for using software applications.
  8. Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and inventory.
  9. Stay up-to-date with advancements in technology and recommend upgrades or enhancements as needed.
  10. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding IT security and data privacy.

Skills

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience working in a technical support role or similar position.
  2. Proficiency in troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and network issues.
  3. Strong knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and common software applications.
  4. Familiarity with computer peripherals such as printers, scanners, and monitors.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  6. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Certification in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) is a plus.
  9. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred but not required.
