The Purchasing Supervisor will oversee daily local and international procurement activities, driving cost-efficiency while ensuring all raw materials, goods, and services meet company quality benchmarks. Utilizing a strong commerce background, the ideal candidate will optimize spend analytics, lead complex vendor negotiations, and supervise a team of purchasing officers to ensure seamless supply chain workflows from Jeddah.
Key Responsibilities
Team Supervision & Workflow Management
- Lead and guide the daily activities of purchasing officers and assistants.
- Manage end-to-end procurement cycles, from initial order requisition to inventory delivery.
- Review and verify purchase orders, price quotations, and supplier invoices before financial approval.
Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Evaluate and qualify local and international vendors based on reliability, quality, and pricing.
- Negotiate favorable terms , SLAs, commercial conditions, and volume discounts with key distributors.
- Address supplier discrepancies , handling shipping delays, product defects, or commercial disputes immediately.
Financial & Commerce Operations
- Analyze spending trends and conduct market assessments to identify practical cost-saving initiatives.
- Control departmental budgets and align procurement practices with internal accounting frameworks.
- Liaise with finance and warehouse teams to handle inventory audits and reconcile payment terms.
Compliance & Logistics
- Ensure full compliance with corporate ethical guidelines and Saudi regulatory requirements (e.g., SABER platform, customs codes).
- Oversee logistics coordination to guarantee timely clearance and delivery of imported products to warehouses.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in Commerce , Finance, Business Administration, or a closely matching discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in a purchasing or strategic sourcing environment.
- Must currently reside in or be willing to immediately relocate to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia .
- Professional fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are highly valued for local vendor relations.
- Proficiency with major ERP systems (such as Odoo) and advanced data skills in Microsoft Excel .
- Strong commercial negotiation tactics, team leadership capabilities, and analytical problem-solving skills.
