King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Medina is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Outpatient Care. This full-time role is integral to supporting the daily operations of the unit/department and contributing to the delivery of safe, patient and family-focused quality care.

Role Overview

The Patient Care Technician provides direct assistance to patients, ensuring their personal needs are met and contributing to a positive patient experience. This role involves monitoring patient activities, recording vital information, and supporting clinical staff in various patient care tasks within an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to achieving clinical quality outcome indicators, including patient satisfaction.
• Uphold and apply organizational values in providing quality patient care.
• Provide direct assistance to patients with personal hygiene needs, including bed baths/showering, dressing/undressing, toileting, and oral hygiene.
• Assist patients with eating and drinking, ensuring fresh water is available.
• Support patient movement and handling, including re-positioning bedridden patients and mobilization.
• Monitor patient activities and report all patient-related information to the Staff Nurse I / Staff Nurse II (SNl/SNll) accurately, appropriately, and in a timely manner, including unusual occurrences.
• Measure and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, oxygen saturation, food and fluid intake and output, height, and weight as directed, informing the SNl/SNll of any abnormal recordings.
• Accurately measure, empty, and document the content of urinary catheters and drains.
• Document all relevant information correctly, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
• Receive patients for admission and orientate them to the room/unit and services.
• Prepare patients for procedures as directed, assist the physician, and remain with the patient if required.
• Collect specimens such as urine, feces, or sputum as directed.
• Provide comfort measures such as back care, head, foot, and hand massage as needed.
• Assist patients with preparations for prayer if needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Current Patient Care Technician licensure from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialist.
• 0-1 years of relevant experience.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position based in Medina, within the outpatient care department of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center.
