The Role of Field Mechanic

Golden Compass is seeking a dedicated Field Mechanic to join its team in Jiddah and Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for maintaining and repairing essential machinery and vehicles, ensuring the functionality and reliability of various mechanical systems, engines, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to field sites to perform diagnostics, emergency breakdown repairs, and scheduled inspections on machinery and vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and execute corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs and inspection checklists to ensure equipment reliability and operational readiness.
• Ensure all equipment is properly inspected prior to deployment to field sites.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs performed.
• Report field issues, equipment status, and spare parts requirements to the Field Coordinator or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Manage onsite inventory of essential spare parts, including hoses, filters, and lubricants.
• Adhere to site safety procedures and HSE policies during all maintenance operations.
• Utilize diagnostic tools to test equipment performance and identify potential malfunctions.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant field mechanic role.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of machinery and vehicles.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, engines, and diagnostic tools.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in the Jiddah and Makkah region of Saudi Arabia, requiring travel to various field sites as needed. The role operates within the earth resource industry, demanding adherence to strict safety and operational protocols.
