Procurement Lead Engineer (Civil & Architecture) – Luxury Hotels & High-Rise Buildings


The Procurement Lead Engineer (Civil & Architecture) plays a critical role in delivering world-class luxury hotel and high-rise building projects by leading the procurement of construction materials, architectural finishes, and specialized subcontract packages. This role is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery while meeting project specifications, international standards, and luxury hospitality requirements.

Working closely with project management, design consultants, contractors, and suppliers, the Procurement Lead Engineer ensures the successful procurement of all civil and architectural packages, from structural materials to premium interior finishes. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in high-rise and hospitality developments, strong commercial acumen, and excellent negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the procurement of civil, architectural, and finishing packages for luxury hotels, mixed-use developments, and high-rise building projects.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, consultants, and engineering teams to define technical specifications and procurement requirements.
  • Source, evaluate, and prequalify local and international suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors specializing in luxury construction materials and architectural finishes.
  • Manage tendering processes, including preparation of RFQs/RFPs, technical and commercial bid evaluations, bid comparisons, and recommendation reports.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, warranties, and commercial agreements to maximize project value and minimize risk.
  • Procure premium materials such as natural stone, marble, granite, porcelain, high-end joinery, decorative metalwork, curtain wall systems, façade materials, luxury sanitary ware, doors, flooring, ceilings, and custom architectural finishes.
  • Coordinate procurement activities with construction schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and prevent project delays.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality compliance, production progress, inspections, logistics, and delivery milestones.
  • Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure procured materials comply with project specifications, international standards, consultant approvals, and hospitality brand requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers and continuously identify alternative sources to improve competitiveness and supply chain resilience.
  • Monitor procurement budgets, cost reports, savings initiatives, and procurement KPIs, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Lead value engineering and cost optimization initiatives without compromising project quality or luxury standards.
  • Coordinate international procurement, shipping, customs clearance, and logistics for imported materials and specialized equipment.
  • Stay informed of market trends, material availability, pricing fluctuations, and emerging technologies within the luxury construction industry.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, ethical standards, and applicable regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of procurement experience in luxury hotels, high-rise buildings, mixed-use developments, or premium commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of civil works, architectural finishes, façade systems, interior fit-out, and luxury hospitality construction.
  • Experience managing procurement packages for internationally recognized hotel brands is highly desirable.
  • Excellent negotiation, contract management, supplier relationship management, and commercial evaluation skills.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, procurement best practices, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar), and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement packages simultaneously in a fast-paced project environment.
