JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships. The Maintenance Support Team Leader s main objective is to ensure delivery of the Operations Support Service to all 3 RSAF Squadrons and is responsible to the Typhoon Fleet Operations Manager for the day to day service delivery of the Salam Squadron Engineering Support. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Provide Operations and Engineering Support to all 3 RSAF Squadrons and deputising for the Operations Manager in periods of absence. Provide on base line management to the aircraft support workshops and for aircraft maintenance planning and control activities across all three squadrons. Work across many levels of the Salam Operation including external and internal Customers and Suppliers; from Director level down. Produce regular manpower and any ad-hoc organisational reports as required highlighting recruitment, RSAF Consolidation, Saudisation and any other related manpower issues. Aid the Typhoon Operations Manager gathering data for all Flight Operations reporting to support key performance indicators for the Annex B to Typhoon LOA 2 SoW covering overall flying hours achievement and operational readiness Assisting T&E and Life Support to ensure the programmed delivery of all EIS upgrades are embodied and accepted as agreed with the RSAF customer, liaising with key business partners where necessary. Support the UK capability delivery teams, in terms of local support, RSAF engagement and adherence to Salam entry into service (EIS).
Desired Candidate Profile
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
- A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or Engineering Discipline or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA, OR Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
- And Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration.
- Extensive post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR 7 years on same aircraft type.
- Substantial management experience of military aircraft maintenance.
- An Awareness level of knowledge of the aircraft types managed and an Awareness level of Fleet Planning skills and EASA/M&CA Part 145.
- A Practitioner level of knowledge of the operations environment and of maintenance performed in workshops.
- A Practitioner level of operations management skills and a Practitioner level of experience of aviation support services.
Desirable
- NVQ5/BTEC/HND or Degree in a relevant technical discipline, acceptable to M&CA.
- Incorporated or Technician Engineer with an appropriate professional institute such as Royal Aeronautical Society or Institute of Engineering & Technology.
- Knowledge of BAES Saudi Arabia and the Royal Saudi Air Force.
- Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
