Key Responsibilities Installation & Configuration Install, configure, and administer JBoss EAP and Wild Fly environments across Development, SIT, UAT, and Production environments. Manage both standalone and domain mode deployments. Configure clustering, load balancing, and high-availability architectures using mod_cluster, Apache HTTPD, or NGINX. Configure and manage data sources, JDBC drivers, JMS queues, connection pools, and JNDI resources. Manage SSL/TLS certificates, keystores, truststores, HTTPS configurations, and secure communication channels.
Deployment & Release Management Deploy EAR, WAR, and JAR applications through JBoss CLI, management console, and automated deployment pipelines. Manage application server profiles, server groups, and configuration consistency across environments. Support application release processes, code promotions, rollbacks, and deployment lifecycle activities. Automate server provisioning, deployments, and configuration management using Ansible, Jenkins, and Git.
Performance & Tuning Perform JVM tuning including heap sizing, garbage collection optimization, and thread pool configuration. Analyze heap dumps, thread dumps, and application performance metrics. Monitor server health, throughput, latency, and resource utilization using enterprise monitoring tools. Conduct load testing, stress testing, and performance optimization initiatives. Optimize EJB, JPA/Hibernate, JMS, and web container configurations for maximum efficiency.
Security & Governance Configure authentication and authorization mechanisms using LDAP, Active Directory, Kerberos, SAML, and OAuth/OIDC. Manage security domains, access controls, user roles, and Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations. Apply security patches, vulnerability remediation, and server hardening in accordance with enterprise standards. Maintain audit logs and support compliance and security review activities.
Operations & Support Manage middleware incidents, problems, and change requests through enterprise ITSM platforms. Lead root cause analysis and resolution of critical production incidents. Support Disaster Recovery (DR) environments and execute DR plans and testing exercises. Coordinate with Red Hat support and third-party vendors for issue resolution and escalations. Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures. Mentor and support junior middleware administrators.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience administering JBoss, Wild Fly, or Red Hat JBoss EAP in production environments. Strong expertise in standalone mode, domain mode, clustering, and high-availability architectures. Proficiency with JBoss CLI, jboss-cli scripting, and management console administration. Strong understanding of Java EE / Jakarta EE technologies including EJB, JPA, JMS, JCA, JAX-WS/RS, and Servlets. Deep knowledge of JVM internals, garbage collection tuning, memory management, and thread analysis. Strong Linux/RHEL administration skills. Proficiency in scripting using Bash, Python, or Groovy. Experience with Apache HTTPD, NGINX, mod_cluster, and mod_jk. Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, App Dynamics, Dynatrace, and Nagios. Familiarity with CI/CD platforms including Jenkins and Git Lab CI. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform. Experience configuring and managing data sources for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Postgre SQL, and MySQL databases. Preferred Qualifications Red Hat Certified Specialist in Enterprise Application Server Administration (EX248) or RHCE certification. Experience with JBoss Fuse, JBoss BPM Suite, or Red Hat SSO (Keycloak). Experience with containerized environments including Open Shift, Kubernetes, and Docker. Experience migrating applications from Web Logic or Web Sphere to JBoss EAP. Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management practices. Experience within banking, telecommunications, insurance, or government sectors.
