Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities Our newest opportunity is for a talented Project - Civil Engineer only to join our award winning team in Riyadh, Saudi. Working on behalf of a leading global construction consultancy, the successful candidate will support the delivery of major infrastructure, mixed-use, commercial, and development projects, ensuring that civil engineering works are executed in accordance with project requirements, quality standards, contractual obligations, and client expectations. The Project Civil Engineer will act as a key technical representative on-site, coordinating with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to monitor construction activities, resolve technical issues, and drive project delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery & Site Supervision Monitor and supervise civil construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, and applicable standards. Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, method statements, material submittmits, and technical proposals. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify construction quality and adherence to project requirements. Identify construction issues and provide timely technical solutions to support project progress. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, architectural, MEP, and infrastructure disciplines. Assist in monitoring project milestones and construction progress against approved programmes.
- Quality Management Ensure all civil works are executed in accordance with project specifications, local regulations, and international standards. Review and witness inspections, testing activities, and quality assurance procedures. Support the implementation of quality control processes and ensure non-conformance issues are addressed and closed out. Verify completion of works prior to inspection and handover.
- Contract Administration & Commercial Support Review and assess contractor requests for information (RFIs), technical queries, and variation proposals. Support the evaluation of progress claims and contractor performance. Assist in the review of change orders and construction variations from a technical perspective. Maintain accurate project records, site reports, and engineering documentation.
- Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance Promote and enforce project health, safety, and environmental requirements. Monitor contractor compliance with approved HSE plans and procedures. Participate in safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations as required. Foster a proactive safety culture across all project activities.
- Stakeholder Management Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, authorities, utility providers, and project stakeholders. Attend project meetings and provide technical updates on progress, risks, and key issues. Support project managers in managing stakeholder expectations and achieving project objectives.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include a minimum of 8/10 years career experience partnered with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Previous experience working for an engineering consultancy, project management consultancy (PMC), or construction supervision consultant.
