Roles & Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships. To support and enhance tactical and strategic asset management through the identification, prioritisation and control of key assets that directly influence fleet performance, particularly aircraft availability KPMs, ensuring the organisation sustains current SSS Ph4 performance levels and is positioned to meet future Ph5 requirements. To lead and manage the established Asset Suppression Team ensuring asset control within the operational environment is fully optimised. This includes driving robust management practices, identifying constraints, inefficiencies and single point criticalities and delivering practical, data driven solutions, efficiencies and mitigations that reduce asset vulnerability and maintain or increase overall fleet availability.

Desired Candidate Profile

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

  • Extensive experience in an operational support, aviation or defence environment or a relevant (CA or maintenance-related) role, including the period of training and progressive application of analytical skills with clear evidence of growth into independently delivering high integrity data analysis that supports fleet level decision making
  • A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC in a relevant technical discipline, or Part 66 Category C qualified, or National civilian / military equivalent and successful completion of a recognised national aircraft maintenance traineeship / apprenticeship.
  • Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience in aircraft engineering and maintenance standards gained through direct involvement in Typhoon fleet support, maintenance planning or operational sustainment.
  • Demonstrable experience producing Asset Suppression outputs such as reporting packs, criticality assessments, mitigation plans and stakeholder briefings.
  • Proven understanding of fast jet operational support environments, with hands on exposure to the processes and constraints that influence Typhoon availability.
  • Established working knowledge of the Typhoon platform from a support, maintenance or design interface perspective.
  • Experience operating within RSAF and/or RAF frameworks, with a clear understanding of local governance, expectations and operational culture.
  • Strong familiarity with Asset Suppression activities, including supporting criticality assessments, availability improvement initiatives or support chain optimisation.
  • Established stakeholder networks across BAS Systems Saudi Arabia, MODSAP, RSAF and UK support organisations enabling effective collaboration and integration across the Typhoon enterprise.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated contribution to Taif Operational and Management Reviews through preparation, analysis or presentation of Asset Suppression related material.
  • Evidence of a continuous improvement mindset demonstrated through proactive identification of inefficiencies, process improvements or availability enhancing initiatives.
