Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Engineer with a strong background in structural steel fabrication and erection projects. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all fabrication, welding, painting, and erection activities comply with project specifications, approved drawings, client requirements, and international quality standards such as AWS, AISC, and ISO 9001.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect structural steel fabrication, welding, assembly, painting, and erection activities.
• Review project specifications, drawings, method statements, ITPs, WPS, PQR, and WPQ documents.
• Conduct inspections for material receiving, fit-up, welding, dimensional accuracy, surface preparation, painting, and final products.
• Coordinate and witness NDT activities (UT, MT, PT, RT) as per project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with AWS, AISC, ISO 9001, and client quality standards.
• Verify material traceability, MTCs, heat numbers, and inspection records.
• Prepare and maintain NCRs, corrective actions, quality reports, MIRs, and inspection documentation.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, and third-party inspectors.
• Monitor bolt installation, alignment, plumbness, and structural erection activities at site.
• Support internal and external quality audits.
• Ensure timely closure of quality-related issues and punch points.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in steel structure fabrication and erection projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes and welding inspections.
• Experience with quality documentation, inspection procedures, and project quality plans.
• Familiarity with international standards including AWS, AISC, ASTM, and ISO 9001.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation systems.

Preferred Certifications

• CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• NDT Level II Certification (UT, MT, PT, RT)
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor
• Aramco Approval (Preferred for Oil & Gas Projects)
