Roles & Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The Instructor Pilot (Primary) delivers the flight and ground training service to the cadets that have been assigned to them in accordance with the business objectives

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Perform flying operations and cadet training in accordance with KSA Company Flying Regulations and RSAF Rules and Regulations.
  • Identify aviation safety risks and make mitigating recommendations to Squadron Supervisor. Have a working knowledge of SafeTal incident reporting and be familiar with the flying operations Hazard (Risk) Log in both the Hazard and FORM modules.
  • Provide air operations subject matter expertise to Squadron Supervisor when requested.
  • Perform duties and delegated tasks from the Squadron Supervisor as directed.
  • Highlight Cadet training issues to Squadron Supervisory staff.
  • Follow Squadron Supervisor policies and processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of Cadets assigned to you and advise Squadron Supervisory staff of any issues.
  • Generate reports as required by Squadron Supervisory staff.
  • Maintain cultural awareness with the customer at all times.
  • Conform to required standards and operating procedures in keeping with customer needs.
  • Monitor the Aviation Safety culture within the Squadron to ensure adherence to required standards.
  • Self-monitor fatigue levels in accordance with the King Faisal Air Academy (KFAA) Aircrew Fatigue Management Plan and highlight any concerns to Squadron Supervisory staff.
  • Advise the Squadron Supervisor of factors adversely affecting safe operations.
  • Provide ground training lectures to cadets as scheduled by your unit

Desired Candidate Profile

As an Instructor Pilot (Primary) you will be responsible to the Head of Flying (KFAA) for flying instructional missions for cadets in accordance with appropriate Royal Saudi Air Force training syllabi. To be eligible for the role of Instructor Pilot (Primary) you will need the following qualifications and experience:

  • A highly experienced Flying Instructor with military flying training experience, and obtained an RAF A2 instructor qualification (or equivalent) for Primary or Basic instruction.
  • Where you are not ex-military you will be required to provide documentation from a military establishment showing you are performing at this level.
  • Accumulated a minimum of 1500 total flying hours, 800 of which must be on fixed wing aircraft
  • Accumulated a minimum of 400 total Primary or Basic flying instructional hours.
  • Be a maximum age of 55 when contracted.
  • Have good people development competencies
  • High levels of interpersonal skills
  • The ability to communicate, influence and direct Saudi cadets both in the air and on the ground.
  • Any shortfall in the above requirements is subject to customer approval.
