Job description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Supervisor to oversee and coordinate health, safety, and environmental (HSE) operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and certification requirements. The role will support the safe and efficient operation of railway services while driving continuous improvement in HSE performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead HSE inspection planning and activities during the CPS-1 phase and operational stages.
• Ensure all HSE certifications and licensing requirements are achieved on time for railway operations.
• Build, develop, and coordinate the HSE team, including inspectors, specialists, and advisors.
• Coordinate certification processes with external regulatory bodies alongside the Safety Manager.
• Conduct audits and inspections of operational and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Supervise the competency and effectiveness of the Safety Committee.
• Prepare reports and safety performance statistics in line with contractual KPIs.
• Assist in developing and improving HSE policies, procedures, and quality processes to reduce environmental and safety risks.
• Promote HSE awareness through effective communication and accountability measures.
• Review current and future HSE requirements, including regulatory updates and industry standards.
• Monitor team workflows, optimise resource utilisation, and implement cost-effective safety strategies.
• Support sustainability initiatives while minimising environmental impact.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Safety Manager.

Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environment supervision.
• Strong knowledge of HSE standards, audits, inspections, and compliance procedures.
• Experience in railway, transportation, infrastructure, or industrial environments is preferred.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and reporting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and regulatory requirements effectively.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
