We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer/Solar Engineer to join our dynamic energy solutions team in Saudi Arabia. This internship‑level role provides a hands‑on opportunity to contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and related electrical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the electrical design of PV systems, including wiring diagrams, electrical load calculations, and protective relaying schemes.
- Support PV system specifications, bill of materials (BOM), and equipment selection in line with project requirements and local codes.
- Contribute to the development of single‑line diagrams (SLDs), underground and above‑ground cable routing, and trenching plans.
- Perform electrical calculations (short‑circuit, voltage drop, cable sizing) and conduct feasibility analyses for new projects.
- Support energy storage and DC‑DC/AC‑coupled integration studies where applicable.
- Assist with site surveys, data collection, and as‑built documentation to ensure accurate project records.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and control system teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
- Support testing, commissioning, and performance verification activities, including witness testing and safety audits.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and presentation materials for internal review and client deliverables.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and environmental policies and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field (new graduates or current interns progressing toward graduation accepted).
- Relevant coursework or internship experience in solar energy, power systems, or renewable energy technologies.
- Excellent understanding of electrical fundamentals, including AC/DC power systems, electrical codes, and protection concepts.
- Familiarity with PV system components (inverters, combiner boxes, racking, grounding, switchgear) and related wiring practices.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD or Visio for drawings, PV*Sol, PVSyst, ETAP or SKM for calculations) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language proficiency is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast‑paced project environment.
- U.S. driving license is not required unless specified; valid donor status may be preferred for field activities in some projects.
