DescriptionRoles & Responsibilities:
Strategy
·Develops fleet strategies and plans to support operational requirements and business continuity.
·Establishes fleet performance targets and contributes to cost optimization initiatives.
·Supports leadership with recommendations related to fleet capacity planning, replacement planning, and utilization improvement.
·Identifies efficiency opportunities to improve fleet productivity and reduce total cost of ownership.
Operations
·Oversees fleet assignments and day-to-day operations (including vehicles, employees’ cars, VIP transport, and crew buses as applicable).
·Ensures fleet availability aligns with operational and company requirements.
·Monitors vehicle utilization and optimizes asset allocation.
·Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
·Coordinates repairs, servicing, and inspections; ensures adherence to manufacturer maintenance schedules.
·Maintains accurate fleet maintenance records and asset documentation.
·Prepares and manages fleet budgets; monitors fuel consumption, maintenance costs, insurance, and leasing expenses.
·Identifies and implements cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiency improvements.
·Ensures compliance with local transport regulations and company policies.
·Implements fleet safety programs and supports driver training initiatives.
·Investigates incidents/accidents and drives corrective and preventive actions.
·Monitors licensing, registrations, and insurance renewals to ensure continuous compliance.
·Manages vehicle procurement, leasing, and disposal processes.
·Evaluates vendor performance, negotiates contracts, and ensures service level adherence.
·Maintains fleet asset database and supports lifecycle management planning.
·Track fleet KPIs including availability rate, maintenance turnaround time, fuel efficiency, cost per kilometer/mile, and accident frequency rate.
·Provides regular performance reports and recommendations for improvement.
·Monitors trends and supports corrective actions to improve operational performance.
People Management
·Leads and supervises fleet-related staff and/or service providers to ensure timely and quality execution of fleet activities.
·Provides clear direction, task assignment, and performance expectations for team members (where applicable).
·Promotes a strong safety culture and ensures adherence to fleet and transport safety requirements.
·Builds capability through coaching, guidance, and coordination with stakeholders for operational discipline.
Product/Process Improvement
·Identifies opportunities to improve fleet processes (dispatching, maintenance scheduling, reporting, vendor performance tracking).
·Enhances the use of fleet management systems and telematics to improve visibility and decision-making.
·Standardizes reporting, documentation, and compliance tracking for fleet operations.
·Implements continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve cost control.
Physical Working Conditions
·Primarily office-based with frequent engagement with fleet operations and service locations.
·Requires routine field coordination with workshops, vendors, and transport activities as needed.
·May require occasional travel to sites and vendor locations depending on operational requirements.
QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Experience & Qualification
·Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
·8-12 years of experience in fleet management or transportation operations.
·For Diploma holders: minimum 15 years relevant experience.
·Experience in oil & gas, drilling, construction, or heavy equipment operations is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
·Strong knowledge of fleet management systems and telematics.
·Familiarity with safety and transport regulations and compliance requirements.
·Proficiency in MS Office and fleet management software.
·Strong budgeting and cost control exposure (fuel, maintenance, insurance, leasing, vendor contracts).
