JOB PURPOSE


The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating transportation activities within an organization. This role involves managing logistics, establishing efficient routes, coordinating vehicle schedules, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


• Implement transportation plans to move goods and materials efficiently and effectively.


• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as procurement, production, and sales, to understand transportation requirements and align them with business objectives.


• Determine optimal routes, considering factors like distance, traffic, and delivery schedules.


• Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and logistics partners to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring ontime and accurate transport. 


• Identify opportunities to consolidate shipments, reduce empty miles, and minimize fuel consumption.


• Implement strategies to improve delivery timeframes, such as real-time tracking, communication systems, and route adjustments.


• Monitor continuously and evaluate route performance, adjusting as necessary to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.


• Coordinate and oversee the management of the organization's fleet of vehicles.


• Maintain accurate records of vehicle information, including registration, insurance, maintenance, and repairs.


• Schedule and coordinate vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure compliance with safety regulations and minimize downtime.


• Ensure compliance with applicable transportation laws, regulations, and permits.


• Stay updated on changes in transportation regulations and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.


• Maintain records and documentation required for compliance, such as driver logs, vehicle inspections,



Education


Diploma in a related subject.


Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)


Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office environment including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.


• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.


• Attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.


• Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams.


Experience


Over 3 years' experience and knowledge in executing fleet management operations, preferably in a related industry.


Languages


Very Good command of Arabic (writing and speech).


Very Good command of English (writing and speech).


5. WORKING RELATIONS 


Internal Interactions Manage and coordinate relationships within all departments in the Organization.


External Interactions Manage and coordinate the company's ongoing relationships with governmental requirements and vendors.
