Job Purpose:
The Dive Center Divemaster is a site-based position. The main goals of this position are twofold: 1). Lead dives and 2). Assist with teaching courses. Furthermore, the Dive Center Divemaster assists the Dive Center Manager in the smooth and efficient running of all dive operations within the designated asset. He/She is responsible for the realization of the day-to-day activities of all dive and underwater tourism related projects originating from the designated asset. The Dive Center Divemaster will ensure all dive-related activities within the asset are conducted in a safe and professional manner. This includes the appearance of the dive center, leading dive excursions, and all dive-related sales. Dive Center Divemaster’s will act as salesmen assisting with the retail outlet.
Job Responsibilities:
General
Reporting directly to the Dive Center Manager, assisting in the smooth running of the dive center of the asset.
Assist the Senior Manager in the development of other dive centers at other assets.
Assist teaching all course to and above PADI standards.
Daily preparation of the dive boat and/or teaching environments.
Lead visiting divers on dives from the asset.
Assist with daily cylinder filling and overall dive centre appearance/organization.
Work with Sustainability and SEZ departments to ensure alignment with sensitive and high-profile environmental issues in the development and operation of Marine Life and Underwater Tourism related assets.
Work remotely and visit office as and when required.
Establishment of Dive Center: Pre-Opening
Work alongside the Senior Manager to develop and deliver the dive centre and necessary components.
Working alongside and supporting all RSG departments during Delivery stage to ensure targets are achieved, operational phasing is initiated when required and projects are delivered as designed.
Become familiar with dive sites within reach of the asset.
Establishment of Dive Center: Post-Opening
Manage standards leading dives. Safety is paramount and always the first priority.
All activities conducted from the Dive Center are conducted in a professional manner.
Ensure all daily diving activities are conducted in a safe and professional manner.
Be familiar with the PADI products (courses) on offer, this includes understanding the required materials, paperwork, and standards (ie prerequisites, age) necessary for specific courses.
Ensure up to date and accurate records are kept pertaining to teaching activities.
Assist with sales in the retail outlet.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, co-workers, and the public.
Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports
Adopt and follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure the dive center operates in a controlled and consistent manner.
Safety, Quality & Environment
Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee and public safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the dive center’s systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Qualification and Experience:
PADI Divemaster with proven track record in various geographic locations
Active and Renewed PADI Divemaster
Good knowledge of all PADI courses
Logged at least 250 dives.
Dive business background-track record as evidence
Hospitality track record
Diving health & safety experience
