Job DescriptionOverview
The Road Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting and verifying road construction activities to ensure compliance with all approved drawings, specifications, material standards, and QA/QC requirements. The role ensures that all roadwork stages—from earthworks to final asphalt—meet quality benchmarks.
Your role
- Conduct daily inspections of roadworks including excavation, subgrade preparation, GSB, sub-base, asphalt layers, and road furniture installation.
- Verify materials used on site comply with approved specifications and test reports.
- Review and implement QA/QC procedures, ITPs, checklists, and sampling/testing requirements.
- Monitor compaction levels, asphalt temperature, mix quality, and placement methods.
- Inspect drainage networks, curbstones, duct banks, and utility crossings.
- Coordinate with contractors and site engineers to resolve non-conformities (NCRs).
- Maintain accurate inspection logs, daily reports, and quality-related documentation.
- Participate in joint inspections with the client, consultant, and contractor teams.
- Ensure proper execution of road safety and traffic diversion standards during work.
- Report quality issues promptly and recommend corrective actions.
About you
- Diploma or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering.
- 3–7 years’ experience as a QC/QA inspector in road and highway projects.
- Strong understanding of road materials, asphalt production, compaction requirements, and laboratory test standards (AASHTO, ASTM).
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, ITPs, and specifications.
- Good reporting, communication, and documentation skills.
