Position Overview:The Senior Planning Engineer for this high-rise hotel project will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring the master construction schedule, ensuring that all project phases are meticulously planned, coordinated, and executed on time. This role requires exceptional foresight, analytical skills, and construction knowledge to anticipate risks, resolve delays, and keep the project on track while coordinating with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Key Responsibilities1. Schedule Development & Management Develop and maintain the project’s master baseline schedule using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, incorporating all design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities. Prepare detailed short-term look-ahead schedules (3–6 week rolling programs) and coordinate with site teams for daily and weekly planning. Integrate schedules from all subcontractors and trades (structural, MEP, façade, interior fit-out, landscaping) into a unified project plan. Ensure schedules align with contract milestones, client expectations, and resource availability.2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting Monitor daily and weekly progress against the baseline schedule through site walks, inspections, and coordination meetings. Prepare and present weekly and monthly progress reports, including S-curves, histograms, earned value analysis, critical path updates, and delay analysis. Identify deviations, potential delays, and bottlenecks early, and recommend corrective actions to the project management team. Maintain accurate as-built schedules and update forecasts regularly.3. Coordination & Interface Management Work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, and engineering teams to ensure alignment between planning and execution. Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors to review progress, coordinate interfaces, and resolve scheduling conflicts. Facilitate planning coordination meetings and contribute to risk review workshops.4. Delay Analysis & Claim Management Analyze the impact of changes, variations, and unforeseen events on the project schedule. Prepare extension of time (EOT) claims and provide detailed delay analysis using recognized methodologies (time impact analysis, windows analysis, as-planned vs. as-built). Support the commercial team with delay-related documentation for contractual claims.5. Resource & Logistics Planning Plan and optimize manpower, equipment, and material delivery schedules to support uninterrupted workflow. Coordinate critical logistics for high-rise construction (tower crane usage, material hoisting, vertical transportation, temporary works planning).6. Risk Management Conduct schedule risk analysis and develop mitigation plans for high-risk activities (e.g., podium construction, tower rise, façade installation, MEP riser works, hotel fit-out). Maintain a risk register linked to schedule activities and update it regularly.7. BIM & Digital Planning Integration Where applicable, collaborate with BIM teams to develop 4D simulation models linking the schedule to the BIM model for visualization and clash detection in sequencing. Utilize digital tools for progress tracking (e.g., drone surveys,360 photo documentation, cloud-based dashboards). Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master’s degree or certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI-SP) is a plus. Experience:Minimum 10 years in planning/scheduling, with at least 5 years specifically on high-rise building projects (hotels, mixed-use, or residential towers). Proven experience in hospitality (hotel) construction, understanding unique sequences such as guest room modularization, back-of-house fit-out, specialized MEP systems, and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) installation. Hands-on experience with fast-track construction and phased handover in live hotel environments. Software Proficiency:Expert in Primavera P6 (mandatory). Advanced skills in Microsoft Project. Familiarity with BIM 4D/5D tools (Synchro, Navisworks, Vico). Strong command of MS Office (Excel, Power Point).
