Ability to supervise a minimum of 2 Foreman, Techs / Craft, Leadman, and Assistant Superintendents, with subcontractor oversight.
Assists or performs the duties of Leadman or Foreman when needed.
Accurately estimates labor requirements, develops crew schedule and assures the productive completion of the work tasks of Techs I, II, III, Leadman, and Foreman.
Analyzes worker and production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
Assigns work to employees, based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs. Coordinates work activities with other construction project activities.
Assists Business Development efforts including: providing take-offs, providing production rate & means-and-method recommendations, participating in bid reviews, meeting with potential clients and GC's.
Assists Project Managers in evaluating historical man hour production rates, tracking actual job production rates and material costs, analyzing this data to report current job costs, change orders, accurately forecasting job progress by creating look-ahead schedules , and uncovering any items that might negatively impact the schedule or budget.
Assures that the crew is operating all tools and equipment in a proper, productive, and safe manner.
Completes all essential paperwork in a clear and accurate manner. Submits paperwork to office within appropriate time to avoid delays in processing.
Confers with managerial and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors in order to resolve problems and coordinate activities.
Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
Maintains high quality workmanship and assures that all work is completed in accordance with contract specifications and Company standards.
Assures that all equipment and vehicles are well maintained, repaired, and cleaned in an appropriate manner. Reports major repairs that are required to mechanic or shop person so that no crew down time is incurred. Arranges for repairs of equipment and machinery, when needed.
Maintains good communication with branch, field crews, and clients.
Maintains a clean and well-organized jobsite.
Prepares and maintains a complete and accurate tool and equipment list for each job task (e.g., grouting, concrete placement, demolition, expansion joint installation, etc.).
Accurately determines the amount of materials to complete all tasks on project. Assures adequate materials are on site so that no crew downtime is incurred.
Participates in Pre-Project and Pre-Task Planning and implements in the field.
Trains workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and company policies.
Reads specifications such as blueprints to determine construction requirements and to plan procedures.
Meets with Project Managers at least weekly to review job progress.
Stays informed on subcontractor scope of work and technical specifications.
Demonstrates strong time management & organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
Completes and maintains two-week or other required schedules.
Ability to run generally up to 4 projects at a time (depending on complexity of project)
Builds and maintains client relationships and trust
Manages subcontractor labor as part of the project team and ensures they follow company safety policies and procedures
Assures all PPE required by safety specs is worn by employees, subcontractors and site visitors
Communicates expectations regarding our safety culture and holds employees accountable
Ensures job hazard analysis is complete when preplanning projects
Performs work in strict compliance with jobsite/shop requirements and the Field Guide to Better Safety
Performs all work in compliance with Company's safety policies as well as industry standards
Understands the principles of Safety 24/7 and empowers his/her team toward reaching its safety goals
Examines/inspects work progress, equipment, and jobsites to verify safety standards are met
Leads daily and weekly safety Tool Box meetings and leads/participates in Jobsite Safety Analyses (JSA)
Ensures jobsite/shop is maintained in a safe manner
Performs Safety Assessments specified by jobsite
Promotes 24/7 Safety Culture and exhibits a Safety 24/7 attitude in all situations
Provides leadership/guidance in developing/continuously improving safety protocol in the field/shop
Reports immediately, accurately and in full detail all incidents
Initiates actions to assure timely resolution of identified hazards or unsafe conditions/practices
Reviews findings at end of the inspection with jobsite employees
Reviews subcontractor safety reports and assists in sharing progress with client and operations team
Sets an example for others by demonstrating that safety is a core value
Trains project team members on how to properly conduct JSA's, SOR's and recognize Near Hits
Wears all Personal Protection Equipment required by safety specifications
Able to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting, standing, or lying down
Able to handle and utilize various tools and equipment
Able to keep hand and arm steady while moving arm or holding arm and hand in one position
