Job Description
The Engineer - Projects plays a crucial role in the successful execution of construction projects. This position involves assisting with project planning, monitoring progress, managing budgets, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulations, and safety standards. The Engineer - Projects supports the project manager in overseeing the construction process from start to finish, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in project planning, including the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and communicate with key stakeholders, including architects, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
- Monitor construction progress, ensuring adherence to project schedule and milestones.
- Assist in the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Perform regular site visits to verify quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Assist in managing project budgets, including tracking expenses, processing invoices, and controlling costs.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including project logs, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and submittals.
- Collaborate with the project team to resolve any issues or delays, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Assist in conducting project meetings, including preparing agendas, documenting minutes, and following up on action items.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe work environment for all workers on site.
- Assist in preparing progress reports, including tracking project milestones, productivity, and budget variances.
- Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in construction project management.

Position Requirements
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 2-3 years with building experience including frame (concrete or steel experience), façade and internal finishes.
- Strong knowledge of construction principles, techniques, and best practices.
Skills
- People skills essential, able to communication well and work as part of a culturally diverse team in potentially remote locations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with construction contract documents and procurement processes.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while also functioning well within a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Professional certification (e.g., Project Management Professional, Certified Construction Manager) is a plus.
