Procurement Specialist. Job Summary The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing sourcing, purchasing, and supplier coordination for materials, equipment, and services required in chemical plants or oil & gas operations. The role focuses on cost optimization, supplier performance, and strict compliance with technical, quality, and HSE standards. Key Responsibilities Source and procure chemicals, raw materials, equipment, spare parts, and services for operations and projects Prepare RFQs/RFPs, analyze technical and commercial bids, and issue purchase orders Work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and HSE teams to ensure compliance with specifications Evaluate and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contracts Manage supplier pre-qualification, performance evaluation, and vendor relationships Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (API, ASTM, ASME, ISO) Monitor market trends, supplier risks, and material availability to support strategic sourcing decisions Expedite orders and resolve supply chain issues to prevent operational delays Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reporting within ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) Support audits and ensure proper documentation for compliance and traceability Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline4–8 years of procurement experience in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or oil & gas industries Knowledge of international procurement and logistics.
