Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic Trade Marketing Manager to lead our marketing initiatives at Basamh Group. The Trade Marketing Department’s vision is to enhance brand visibility and drive sales through effective marketing strategies and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities Build and manage strong relationships with trading model principals by leading day-to-day coordination, aligning on growth strategies, and ensuring performance visibility through weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews. Lead the Annual Development Plan (ADP) process in collaboration with principals and internal teams by defining brand growth pillars, segmenting KPIs by channel and customer, and translating marketing strategies into actionable activation plans and execution calendars. Analyze market trends, category performance, and consumer behavior to uncover growth opportunities, address challenges, and shape data-driven decision-making. Maintain a deep understanding of key customers across channels and stay up to date on market developments and customer expansion plans to inform proactive commercial strategies. Conduct regular store visits and field checks to gather on-ground insights, assess execution, and feed learning into future planning. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to align on trade priorities, optimize stock distribution, and improve forecast accuracy through active participation in DRM and SRM forums. Lead trade marketing execution by designing and deploying monthly and quarterly initiatives (e.g., trade deals, displays, POSM, sellout promotions) that align with strategic priorities. Coordinate with merchandising teams to ensure proper execution of planograms and marketing materials at the point of sale, while monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness. Oversee the successful launch of new products (NPDs) by ensuring cross-functional readiness, tracking launch KPIs, and supporting mitigation or rundown plans when needed. Support IRM forums with inputs on NPD status and provide continuous tracking to ensure alignment with business goals. Develop, monitor, and manage trade marketing budgets in collaboration with the finance team, ensuring timely spend tracking, reconciliation, and alignment with planned activities. Validate and approve customer claims and trade spend submissions, ensuring alignment with pre-approved initiatives and supporting documentation. Continuously share competitive intelligence, market insights, and risks with senior management to support agile and informed business decisions.
Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus). Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with retail and distribution channels. Understanding of market trends and consumer behaviour.
