Role Overview
The Instrument Control Engineer will be responsible for engineering, design, installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems for Oil & Gas projects, preferably Saudi Aramco-compliant projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in I&C engineering and strict adherence to international and Aramco standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed engineering for instrumentation and control systems for Oil & Gas facilities.
Prepare and review engineering deliverables including Instrument Index, I/O List, Datasheets, Loop Diagrams, Hook-up Drawings, Wiring Diagrams, and Control Philosophies.
Design and review control systems such as DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD, and F&G systems.
Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), IEC, IEEE, ISA, and international codes.
Coordinate with process, electrical, mechanical, and piping disciplines during project execution.
Review vendor documents and ensure technical compliance with project specifications.
Support FAT, SAT, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues during execution and operation phases.
Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and safety review studies as required.
Provide technical support to site teams and contractors.
Requirements
Qualification & Experience
Education: B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering / Instrumentation & Control (I&C).
Experience: Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
Industry Experience: Proven experience in Oil & Gas projects.
Project Experience: Prior experience working on Saudi Aramco projects is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas instrumentation and control systems.
Hands-on experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD, and F&G systems.
Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards, specifications, and documentation practices.
Good understanding of field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level, analyzers).
Experience in FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.
Excellent coordination, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary project teams.
