To assist in the development of SAP applications used to facilitate the business activities of KJO which would primarily involve the deployment and customization of vendor packages or programming in ABAP while supporting all user departments in resolving problems and developing new applications.
Skills
Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
Day- to-day operations
- Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Technical Support Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
Project Management
- Coordinates and supports activities & work of the contractors to ensure that all work agreed upon is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with the organisation requirements and is in line with operating procedures and policy.
Application Performance
- Conducts diagnostics of the functional SAP Modules, servers and database systems to evaluate its performance in order to make appropriate recommendations in enhancing the IT service.
SAP Application
- Develops and enhances existing SAP applications by discussing with the user departments to identify requirements and current areas of deficiencies while determining possible solutions and initiating development of necessary codes and patches using ABAP.
- Executes detailed designing, programming and testing of the ABAP codes taking into account restrictions of data integrity and security by utilization of Data Flow Diagrams or Data Models skills.
- De-bugs problems in existing SAP application and develops necessary amendments to upgrade the faulty programs thus meeting end user requirements.
- Maintains system documentation after changes to the SAP systems.
Application Acceptance Tests
- Attends application acceptance tests of completed projects to verify that the applications work in order to make the necessary closures and recommendations to the project.
Operational Improvement
- Identifies opportunities for improvements to processes/procedures in SAP Application development & operations and make recommendations in implementing appropriate systems.
User Training
- Trains user departmental staff in the input of data and generation of reports so that departments can independently utilise the module’s functionality without ongoing reliance on SAP technical experts.
Reporting
- Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards
Safety, Health & Environment
- Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
