To manage the construction, installation, modification and maintenance of all equipment and options related to fire prevention. Working closely with Fire Station and Fire Maintenance Supervisors to ensure all fire prevention measures are taken to protect KJO facilities and personnel.

Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
Day- to-day operations
- Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Fire Maintenance Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
Fire prevention programs
- Reviews all maintenance, repair, overhaul and testing of fire detection and protection systems to ensure that they will function correctly in extinguishing fires. This involves working closely with the mechanical and electronic engineers to oversee compliance of all fire safety measures onsite
- Develops systematic procedures for testing all fire prevention systems on a regular basis to ensure all equipment is operational
- Coordinates with Fire Station supervisors on effective practices to adopt when engaged in fire fighting to prevent escalation of damage to KJO sites and personnel
- Spot-checks fire fighting systems regularly to ensure that all systems are fully functional and serviced.
Project assignments
- Authorises specifications, drawings and technical requirements of tender documents prepared by engineers to ensure they are compliant with required specifications
- Reviews materials to be used in association with fire prevention systems to ensure they meet high levels of safety
- Participates in the validating, testing and implementing stages of a project cycle to ensure all new parts are functioning as expected. This process includes evaluation reports to the Project Commission Team and suggests relevant maintenance programs
Training
- Manages technical training programs related to specialised fire prevention situations to help educate fire fighters on the specific procedures to be employed in the case of fires.
Reporting
- Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards
Safety, Quality & Environment
- Complies with all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
