Simulator Flight Instructor - C-130 Aircrew Training Device (ATD)

Boeing Saudi Arabia is seeking a Simulator Flight Instructor for the C-130 Aircrew Training Device (ATD) to deliver high-quality simulator instruction and mission-oriented training to Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircrew. The Instructor will develop and conduct structured and scenario-based training in the C-130 ATD, assess aircrew performance, support syllabus development, and coordinate closely with the ATD Technical Maintenance team to ensure training realism and device readiness. This position will be based in King Abdullah Air Base, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.




Key Responsibilities



  • Deliver formal and informal simulator instruction for C-130 aircrew, including basic handling, emergency procedures, and mission tactics.



  • Design, develop, and validate training scenarios, lesson plans, and events aligned with RSAF syllabus and training objectives.



  • Conduct pre-briefs and debriefs using objective performance metrics, instructor observations, and recorded simulator data to provide actionable feedback.



  • Monitor and assess aircrew proficiency, maintaining accurate training records and recommending remedial or advanced training as required.



  • Coordinate with the ATD Technical Maintenance team (Aircrew Training Device Technical Maintenance Lead and technicians) to report anomalies, ensure simulator fidelity, and request maintenance or configuration changes affecting training.



  • Ensure training events comply with safety, operational, and security protocols; manage in-simulator emergencies and abort procedures.



  • Use simulator mission files, instructor/operator consoles, and available debrief tools to capture and present flight data.



  • Participate in syllabus reviews, training effectiveness analyses, and continuous improvement efforts.



  • Provide subject-matter expertise for updates to training aids, threat emulation, and scenario realism.



  • Support RSAF instructor development through on-the-job training (OJT), mentoring, and instructor qualification activities.



  • Prepare and present training status reports, performance summaries, and special event briefs to RSAF leadership and Boeing management.




This is an open term contract and subject to contract award.




Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):



  • Qualified C-130 aircrew (pilot, co-pilot, flight engineer) with active or former operational experience on C-130 aircraft.



  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a C-130 aircrew member and at least 2 years’ experience in training, instruction, or operational standardization roles.



  • Demonstrated experience delivering simulator-based instruction (ideally in full-mission simulators or ATDs).



  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; ability to brief and debrief effectively at all organizational levels.



  • Strong knowledge of C-130 systems, normal and emergency procedures, mission tactics, and applicable aviation regulations.



  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical maintenance teams to maximize simulator fidelity and availability.



  • Eligible for local site access and clearances as required by RSAF.




Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):



  • Instructor qualifications or certifications (military instructor, CAE/transferable instructor credentials) are advantageous.



  • Prior experience with ATD configuration, instructor/operator consoles, and debrief systems.



  • Familiarity with simulator data capture, replay tools, and basic performance analysis.



  • Experience working with RSAF or other Middle Eastern air forces.



  • Arabic language skills beneficial.

This requisition is for an international, locally hired position in Saudi Arabia. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll and will commensurate with experience and qualifications and in accordance with applicable Saudi Arabia law. Employment is subject to the candidate's ability to satisfy all Saudi Arabia labor and immigration formalities.
