Role Summary:We are hiring a field-proven forecourt automation specialist who has real, hands-on experience in fuel stations—not generic IT/electrical work. You will commission, integrate, troubleshoot, and hand over complete forecourt automation systems: dispensers + ATG + forecourt controllers + network. If your background is limited to “basic wiring” or “general networking” without petroleum retail site experience, this role is not a match.
Core Responsibilities Multi-brand dispenser integration & commissioning: install/upgrade/diagnose dispensers and their electronics (control boards, pulser/encoder signals, comms interfaces), configure communication, validate transactions, and complete full site handover. Forecourt system integration (end-to-end): integrate Fuel Dispensers ↔ Forecourt Controller ↔ POS ↔ ATG ↔ Payment/Outdoor terminals, ensuring stable data flow and accurate sales/volume reporting. (This is the core of the job but at a senior level.) Network & communications (hands-on): configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP networks on sites (IP plan, VLANs where needed, routing basics, VPN access, switches), plus industrial comms (RS-485/RS-232/Ethernet, Modbus where applicable). Control engineering / automation tasks: diagnose I/O signals, interface controllers, understand control loops and interlocks, read schematics, and verify safe operational behavior. Troubleshooting under real conditions: isolate faults across dispenser electronics, comms wiring, grounding/noise, network instability, ATG alarms, POS mapping, and controller logic—then document root cause and corrective action. Testing, calibration, and verification: perform functional tests and site acceptance tests (SAT), verify nozzle mapping and grade/price/volume integrity, confirm ATG reconciliation, and ensure stable operation before handover. (Your current JD only calls for “initial tests” ; this role requires full commissioning discipline.) Documentation & reporting: as-built updates, network diagrams, configuration backups, punch lists, and handover packages.
Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable)1) Real Fuel-Station Automation Experience Minimum 4–7 years specifically in fuel stations / petroleum retail forecourt automation (installation + commissioning + troubleshooting). Proven experience integrating dispensers, ATG, POS/forecourt controller, and related field devices across multiple sites. Multi-brand dispenser experience: must have worked hands-on with multiple dispenser brands/models (e.g., at least 3 major brands) and can clearly explain differences in comms, boards, calibration, and field failure patterns.
2) Certifications / Technical Proof Networking certification (required): CCNA or Comp TIA Network+ (or equivalent vendor-recognized networking certification). Control/automation credential (required): recognized training/certification in industrial control/automation (e.g., PLC/industrial automation course, ISA/Siemens/Rockwell-certified training, or equivalent). Ability to read electrical/control schematics confidently (not “basic familiarity”).
3) Technical Competency (Demonstrated) Solid grasp of: TCP/IP addressing/subnetting, switch configuration basics, structured cabling standards, grounding/shielding practices for industrial comms. Strong low-voltage installation practices and safe termination of data/power wiring (your current JD lists low-voltage wiring as “basics” ; here it must be professional-grade). Comfortable working outdoors on active sites, with safe work practices and discipline.
4) Logistics Valid driver’s license, travel readiness, and ability to work on-site (your current JD already includes this ).
Strongly Preferred (Will Put You on Top) Experience with ATG systems (installation, probes, alarms, reconciliation workflows) and integration into controllers/POS. Experience with fleet systems, and remote monitoring. Hazardous area / petroleum retail safety exposure (site permits, intrinsically safe practices, basic zone awareness).
