JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE


The position holder is responsible for collaborating with authorized inspection contractors to provide superior inspection services and certifications related to Civil items. This role is essential for the comprehensive


assessment of our physical assets, and fitness certifications which involve meticulous analysis and evaluation of equipment, machinery, and infrastructure. The objective is to certify that our equipment complies with


industry operating standards, operates without functional issues, identifies potential functional and safety concerns at an early stage, and recommends appropriate corrective actions. The main responsibility is to


effectively facilitate the safe operating condition of all Civil assets at our Ras Al Khair site. The holder will collaborate with the inspection contractor to assess, test, and evaluate concrete structures and buildings,


ensuring adherence to the standards, regulations, and safety protocols set forth by International Maritime Industries.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


• Coordinate efficiently third-party condition, defect and certification inspections for Civil Infrastructure within and around the shipyard, production workshop and all other critical civil structures and building that


supports the safe daily operations of these assets such as site inspections, condition assessment, defect identification and treatment selection in accordance with international standards and corporate requirements.


• Identify, classify, record, validate and analyze asset inventory and condition data for Civil Infrastructure captured within the asset register to ensure appropriate inspection routines have been assigned and


monitored.


• Collaborate with Asset Management and Capital Project team to ensure that periodic inspection reports from third party Contractors get adequately processed into PM strategy for civil assets.


• Collaborate with third party inspection Contractors to make repair recommendations for civil assets based on visual inspection outcome. • Read and decode civil engineering drawings, generate inspection reports,


and ensure third party Contractor’s Inspection Reports are accurate and meet contractual requirements and specifications.


• Check and ensure that all relevant data and documentation required for the smooth execution of third-party asset inspection are in place, pre-discussed and made available to third party Inspection Contractor prior


to mobilization to site.


• Manage the execution of civil asset inspection work scope ensuring there are no milestone sleeps or extra cost to company and ensuring proper housekeeping after every civil asset inspection event in compliance


with safety requirements.


• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on Asset Inspection events ensuring adequate planning and the availability of all designated assets.


• Maintain and improve the data quality and consistency of Council’s Asset Management System.


• Assist in the development and continuous revision of high-quality Civil Asset Inspection SOP and relevant Technical Civil Inspection Specifications


• Conduct and report investigation upon reported defects, malfunctions, and asset handover inspections.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


Education


• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or equivalent.


Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)


• The International Conference for Building Officials is a plus.


Experience


At least 6 years of experience in related field
